The HTC One X Boasts Exciting New Camera Features

HTC have unveiled their new One series of mobile phones for 2012. The range consists of three new models with the flagship handset being the impressive new HTC One X. Previously we took a look at the design of this new model along with the software that it incorporates. Here we examine the camera features that are present on this exciting new model.

The HTC One X features a superb camera facility. The company are not renowned for producing models with excellent photography and video features so we were pleasantly surprised with what we found on this handset. The model incorporates an 8 million pixel camera which is accompanied by an LED flash. This is the first model released by HTC to incorporate the new HTC Image Chip and BSI sensor which helps the phone to produce stunning images. It is not only the hardware that has been improved on this model and the software also boasts some impressive new functionality. In addition to the normal features that we expect from a premium device such as face detection and touch focus there are some genuinely useful new facilities. The new Burst feature can capture a series of shots in quick succession. By holding their finger on the shutter button the user can take up to 99 individual photograph snapped at just 0.7 seconds distance apart. Once these photographs have been captured the user can look and see which one is the most suitable and discard the ones that are not needed.

The new HTC One X also feature a very high quality video capture facility. The device can record video footage at a resolution of 1080P which is the highest resolution currently available from any device. Not only does footage of this standard look superb on the excellent phone display but it also works well when transferred to a home computer or a compatible television. An impressive aspect of the video recording facility on this model is that it enables users to capture still photographs while they are recording video. This is a new feature that cannot be found on any other model and could prove very useful. Imagine recording a segment of video and while filming you notice a shot that would make an excellent photograph. Normally you would have to stop recording and switch to camera mode in order to capture the image. With the excellent One X you can simply press the camera button while recording and the image is saved with no interruption of your footage.

The HTC One X includes a superb photography and video package that eclipses what many of its rivals can offer. The quality is very high in both areas and a number of useful new features add to the appeal of this excellent model.

The HTC One X and the HTC Sensation XE are available now.

The HTC One X Is One Of The Best Devices Of 2012

Traditionally March is the month when we see numerous new mobile phones released with every manufacturer keen to try and outshine their rivals. We have started to see some of the brand new 2012 handsets launched and one of the most impressive that we have encountered is the excellent new HTC One X. We take a closer look at this exciting new device.

The HTC One X uses a high quality screen capable of displaying excellent image quality. The phone boasts a very large 4.7 inch SLCD screen which will appeal to multi media fans and games lovers. A maximum resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels can be displayed which means that the One X can show a pixel density of an impressive 312PPI. Scratch resistant glass if used on the model to help prevent the phone picking up the inevitable scratches and damage that can occur after several months of continuous use. Behind the screen there are an array of sensors designed to enhance the user experience on this model. An accelerometer chip detects the orientation of the device and adjust the screen accordingly while a proximity sensor will automatically lock the screen during a call. The HTC One X is the not the smallest model available at 134 x 69.9 x 8.9mm but the slim depth measurement does stand out. The model also weighs just 130 grammes thanks to the new Polycarbonate chassis that is used.

Last year we saw HTC incorporate Beats Audio technology on a number of devices and we are delighted that this excellent feature is once again present on the new HTC One X. Music fans will love this feature as it helps the handset to deliver a natural depth of sound that you would not normally be able to achieve from a mobile device. A high quality pair of headphones is also included as part of the package to help make the One X one of the ultimate phones for music playback. If you are looking to load your device with hundreds of audio tracks then you are going to need ample storage capacity and the One X does not disappoint by offering a massive 32GB. The phone also come supplied with 25GB of free cloud storage thanks to a new partnership between HTC and Dropbox. This means that a total 57GB total storage capacity is available on this very impressive new device.

The HTC One X is destined to become one of the most popular phones released this year. The large display offers superb quality which makes the device perfect for web browsing and mobile gaming while the incorporation of Beats Audio technology makes the phone ideal for handling a variety of different types of music.

The HTC One X and the Blackberry Bold 9790 are available now.

The iPhone 5-A5X Processor Set To Be Overlooked

After months of speculation Apple have finally unveiled their new iPad 3, the third tablet device developed by the company. One of the attractions of this new unit is the excellent A5X processor but it seems that this impressive chip may not be used on the iPhone 5 as many of us expected.

The new A5X chip was announced on the 7th March 2012 with claims that it is four times faster at graphic processing than the quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 chip. There are claims however that this new chip is not ideal for smartphone use and is therefore unlikely to be used in the new iPhone 5. Smartphone consumers tend to place more value on the battery performance of a device rather than its graphics capabilities. For this reason Apple are likely to opt for a more power efficient alternative for use in their new smartphone. The excellent graphics processing available on the A5X is not required on the new iPhone because the pixel density is lower on the larger screened iPad devices and therefore extra processing is required in order to maintain an excellent quality of image. It is more likely that Apple will chose to utilise a more efficient 28nm chip design rather than the 40nm variety that is used on the current iPhone 4S.

Whatever chipset is used in the new iPhone 5 there is no doubt that the model will become one of the smartphone successes of 2012. There is no doubt that battery life on this new model will be improved after the well documented problems that the iPhone 4S has encountered in this area. The new processor will help by placing less demand on the battery capacity that is available. This new mobile device is likely to feature NFC technology for the first time. This new short range wireless technology will enable consumers to pay for products with the device by storing debit card information on the phone. NFC also has a number of other uses including the easy transfer of media and interaction with NFC tags to automatically alter the settings on the phone. It looks likely that Apple will continue with the use of a glass body on this new phone but we can expect a brand new design along with a much slimmer profile thanks to the use of the new Gorilla Glass 2 which is thinner than the first generation of the material.

Only time will tell whether Apple will chose to use the new A5X chip in the iPhone 5 but it does seem likely that the developers will explore the use of an alternative chip which offers more in the way of power efficiency. When this model is launched later in 2012 we can expect to see a striking new design along with some excellent features such as NFC.

The iPhone 5 is coming soon and the iPhone 4S is available now.

Our Favourite 2012 Devices Including The Samsung Galaxy S3

As the Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona draws to a close we are getting a clear picture of what exciting new handsets are set to hit the shelves over the coming months. Some phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the iPhone 5 were not unveiled at the event but several new devices were. We take a look at some of the most exciting releases we can expect in 2012.

One of the the most anticipated new releases is the Panasonic Eluga. Panasonic used to produce some great feature phones but this is their first ever smartphone release after a long absence from the mobile market. This stylish new model boasts a feature that we have not seen linked with other devices like the Samsung Galaxy S3 which is that the phone is marketed as being waterproof. This does not mean that you should operate the device underwater but the phone has gained a IP57 certificate which means that it has been tested in depths of up to 1 metre for periods of 30 minutes. This type of protection should ensure that your device should survive being dropped into a bath or sink of water. A high quality 4.3 inch screen uses the latest OLED technology to produce a stunning 960 x 540 image while a powerful while a 1Ghz dual core processor should ensure fast operation speeds. If you are looking for an impressive screen with slightly more processing power then the Samsung Galaxy S3 may be the model for you. The phone is rumoured to be offering the first mobile Full HD display which means it will display a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The processing power on this phone looks set to over shadow all of its rivals. The new Quad Core chip will be clocked at 1.5Ghz to ensure that it delivers near faultless performance.

Just like the Samsung Galaxy S3 there is a second model due where there is no confirmed specification which is the new iPhone 5. This model is one of several new products set to be launched by Apple in 2012. It is rumoured that it will be the first iPhone to incorporate a screen larger than 3.5 inches. A 4 inch display is likely on this model as is a new quad core processor that will form part of the new Apple A6 chipset. Apple are also set to change the design on this model from the glass body that was used on the iPhone 4 and 4S. It has been suggested that the new phone will feature a metallic body which will delight many potential consumers who did not approve of the glass design on previous models. One new phone where we do have some confirmed specification is the HTC Once X. This is the first quad core device from HTC and sports a massive 4.7 inch screen capable of displaying a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. This high quality results in an excellent pixel density of 312PPI. A host of other great features are present on the model including an 8 mega pixel camera and 32GB of internal storage capacity.

The phones we have taken a look at are likely to be four of the leading devices of 2012. The Samsung Galaxy S3 and the iPhone 5 are the big names among the group but the new Panasonic device looks like a very impressive phone. HTC always produce stunning smartphones and the new One X could prove the best that they have ever released.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 and the iPhone 5 are coming soon.

The New iPhone 4S-Software Updates Brings New Changes

Apple have unveiled their new iPad tablet device at a media event in San Fransisco. The company also launched the new iOS 5.1 operating platform which will be available from the 8th March 2012 for owners of devices like the iPhone 4S and the iPad 2. We look at what changes to the software will benefit users of the iPhone 4S.

One of the biggest changes present on this new software involves the Siri voice recognition software which is available on the iPhone 4S. This excellent feature will now be able to talk back to the user in Japanese, an improvement which will delight millions users from this area of the world. If we include the new Japanese support Siri can now respond in four different languages with the others being English, French and German. It is worth bearing in mind that the feature is not a translation service so if you have selected Japanese as the main language the phone will not respond in Japanese to speech that has been inputted in English. Another update to this area of the phone is that Siri now has improved dictation facilities. This means that users will be able to post their social networking statuses by voice rather than needing to input them in a text format.

The new iOS 5.1 software update does not offer a wealth of new features with many of the changes relating to bug fixes. There are however a few new features that users of the iPhone 4S will find useful. The excellent Photo Stream feature appeared on iOS 5 and automatically backs up all of your photographs to the iCloud remote storage system. Users quickly complained that they could not delete individual photographs from this service and this is an issue that has been fixed with this new software. One other major change to the camera facility is offered by this new platform. The camera shortcut key is now present at all times on the main lock screen of the phone. An upward swipe on the display activates this feature rather than relying on the user pressing a specific button. Previously users would need to view the lock screen and then double tap the main button to get this shortcut to appear. This new update makes the excellent camera quicker to access than ever before. One other update that the new software is supposed to offer is improved battery life. We have not had time to test this yet as the update has only been available for a few hours but if it is true it will delight iPhone owners who often feel let down by the relatively short battery life that is offered by the phone.

The iPhone 4S is an excellent mobile phone and these improvements offered by the new operating system further enhance the appeal of the model. Japanese users will love the new Siri functionality while all users will benefit from the faster camera access and boosted battery life.

The iPhone 4S and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus are available now.

Awesome Power On The Sony Xperia S And The Huawei Ascend D1

There are dozens of mobile smartphones available that all offer consumers a wealth of superb features. Two such models that may not be as popular as many rival devices are the excellent Sony Xperia S and the Huawei Ascend D1. We have a closer look at these two handsets and see how they compare for design and processing power.

The Sony Xperia S has many similarities to last years Xperia devices that Sony launched in partnership Ericsson. The familiar curved back panel is once again present as is the very angular design of the front panel. Sony have added some nice little additional touches in a bid to make the device stand out from the crown. Beneath the screen there is a transparent strip that is also visible from the back of the phone. This strip contains the symbols for the three capacitive buttons that are located above it with each symbol illuminated by an attractive white dot. This is a nice touch and will appeal to consumers who are looking for a phone that offers something a little different from its rivals. The device measures 128 x 64 x 10.6mm and weighs just 144 grammes. The Huawei Ascend D1 is also a very attractive mobile phone that boasts a slightly more curved appearance than its rival. A very slim bezel surround the screen of the phone which helps add to the aesthetic appeal of the model. One area that particularly impressed us with the design of this handset was its very slim profile. The phone measures just 8.9mm in depth which is nearly 2mm less than the Sony handset. There is however slight bump at the bottom of the handset which we assume is to help users grip the phone with more ease. Both of these models offer modern and striking looks but the Sony impresses a little more in this department with some neat touches that makes it different from many other handsets that are available.

The Sony Xperia S and the Ascend D1 both offer powerful dual core processors that ensure that the devices operate at a very good speed. The Sony handset uses a Qualcomm MSM8260 S3 Snapdragon processor which is clocked at an impressive 1.5Ghz. The model uses single channel memory and features an Adreno 220 graphics processing unit that enables the model to easily handle the most demanding graphics that can be found on many new games titles. The Ascend D1 makes use of a TI OMAP 4460 dual core chip which is also clocked at 1.5GHz. This device does make use of a twin channel memory to help the phone make full use of both of the processing cores that are available. A PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit offers a similar performance to the Sony chip for games titles. Both of these models offer exceptionally fast performance but the Huawei handsets use of a twin channel memory makes it a slightly more impressive device in this area.

The Sony Xperia S and the Huawei Ascend D1 both boast a striking design that make them two of the most desirable handsets currently available. The Sony may catch our eye slightly more in the design department but the Ascend D1 offers faster operation speeds thanks to more efficient use of the dual cores that are present on the processor.

The Sony Xperia S and the Samsung Galaxy Note are available now.

Two Phones With Excellent Displays-The HTC One X And The LG Optimus 4X HD

Since the end of 2011 there have been many rumours circulating about the arrival of the very first quad core smartphones. Over the past fortnight we have seen two manufacturers officially unveil new devices that incorporate this kind of processing technology. The HTC One X and the LG Optimus 4X HD are officially the first two devices to be launched in the UK so we take a look at the two models to see what they offer in terms of processing power and screen technology.

The HTC One X and the LG Optimus 4X HD are two of the most powerful devices currently available and there is no difference between the models in this department as they both incorporate identical chipsets. The models include an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core processor which is clocked at 1.5Ghz. When we first welcomed dual core technology there was a big improvement in operation speeds especially when users were performing multiple tasks and we can expect a similar boost in performance times from these new chips. All areas of the phone should benefit from quad core technology from web browsing to HD video recording. Accompanying the processor on both models is a ULP Geforce graphics processing unit which is on hand to ensure that even the most demanding of games titles run at maximum speed. Only time will tell what effect the two user interfaces will have on performance but we can be sure that at present these two phones are the fastest and most powerful currently available.

There is also very little to choose between these two models when it comes to screen technology. The HTC One X offers a Super IPS LCD 2 screen which is a step up from standard IPS panels that are used on numerous other devices. This screen measures 4.7 inches and is constructed from Gorilla Glass which helps to prevent damage and keeps the phone looking in great condition for longer. In terms of resolution the model can display 1280 x 720 pixels which results in a pixel density of 312PPI. The LG Optimus 4X HD is very evenly matched with the HTC device in this area. The screen on this phone measures the same size and is capable of displaying an identical resolution and pixel density. The LG device does use the slightly older IPS screen technology which means that in theory the HTC phone should display a slightly sharper and more vivid image. In reality however it is very hard to differentiate between the two models in this area although the One X handset performs slightly better than its rival thanks to the newer screen technology.

The HTC One X and the LG Optimus 4X HD are the first quad core devices we have seen released and expect many other manufacturers to release similar handsets of their own. The models are evenly matched in the areas that we have looked at although we feel that the HTC does offer a higher quality display.

The HTC One X and the Samsung Galaxy Note are available now.

The HTC One X-We Review The Design And Software On This Phone

HTC have established a reputation for producing some of the best mobile smartphones that have been introduced over the past three years. The excellent HTC Desire was one of the most popular phones ever produced and the excellent Sensation XL was the first device to incorporate Beats Audio technology to deliver unrivaled music performance. We take a look at design and software on the HTC One X, the latest device to be unveiled by the company.

The HTC One X is not the most compact mobile phone ever released but we would not expect that from a model that boasts a massive 4.7inch display. The model certainly offers a modern and stylish design and it is arguably the nicest looking phone that HTC have ever released. The corners of the phone are rounded unlike many new models which are offering a more angular design. A textured back panel makes the phone feel very comfortable when it is sitting in the palm of your hand but this textured finish changes to a glossy variety around the sides of the device. This is to help the users finger to glide across the screen and the buttons that are located on the phone with more ease. The One X is a very slim device at just 8.9mm in depth and its weight is also very impressive at just 130 grammes. This is thanks to the extensive use of Polycarbonate in the build rather than metals that HTC have used on numerous other devices. A micro USB port and a 3.5mm headphone socket are located around the edges of the phone and the 8 mega pixel camera protrudes slightly from the back panel.

One of the most impressive aspects of the HTC One X is the excellent software package that it uses. The model incorporates the new Ice Cream Sandwich version of the Android operating system together with the new Sense 4.0 user interface. This latest UI offers less visual effects than previous versions so they no not interfere with the performance and functionality of the model. We have only had a brief look at this new UI in operation and it does seem incredibly fast and very easy to use. A new Recent Applications menu has been added which displays your most recently used programmes in a layout that resembles a deck of cards. These can be easily swiped to find the application that you desire or a simple click on the Home button will return you to the main home screen. The new Android OS offers a number of improvements which include enhanced multi tasking features and a number of new lock screen gestures that are designed to launch various applications.

The HTC One X is a great mobile phone that should prove a hit with consumers during 2012. The model offers a slim and attractive design and offers a software package that features the latest version of the popular Android operating system.

The HTC One X and the HTC Sensation XL are available now.

The Forthcoming iPhone 5 May Be Constructed From Glass

There are numerous rumours circulating about the forthcoming iPhone 5. We can be pretty sure that some of them are true such as the phone offering a quad core processor and NFC capabilities. Others are a little more far fetched but a new rumour has surfaced relating to the design of the phone that seems very plausible.

Many websites have been reporting that the new iPhone 5 will sport an aluminium chassis but this new rumour suggest that Apple are still experimenting with glass and ceramic designs for the phones body. If the company do decide on another glass body then we can be certain that the model will be considerably slimmer than the iPhone 4S. This model incorporated toughened Gorilla Glass on the front and the rear of the phone and since this model was released a second generation of Gorilla Glass has been released with the major difference being that the material is now thinner than ever before. Apple do like to make their devices different from their rivals and at present they are the only manufacturer who are using an entirely glass body. A change to aluminium would simply make the iPhone similar to a handful of other models such as the Blackberry Bold 9900.

Since the original iPhone was released there have only been two major changes in the design of the phone and we can safely predict that the new iPhone 5 will be the third. The original iPhone featured a curved plastic back panel which gave the model an almost pebble like appearance. A slim metallic coloured bezel surrounded the display and the main Home button was located centrally directly beneath the screen. The first major change in this design came with the introduction of the iPhone 4. This model was the first to sport the glass design that is still offered on the iPhone 4S. The design is more angular than earlier models with two sheets of glass separated by an Aluminium strip that runs around all four sides of the phone. This glass design meant that colour variations of the phone were noticeably different. On earlier versions only the back panel of the device changed colour and from the front of the phone you would not know if you were using a White or Black variant. The glass design enabled a coloured sheet to be used on the front panel as well as the back. This is one reason why the White iPhone 4 and 4S have proven so popular.

Despite suggestions of a new metallic iPhone 5 it does seem very likely that Apple will opt to continue with their use of glass and ceramic materials. The new Gorilla Glass two will enable the handset to be the slimmest iPhone ever released while it will also allow Apple to offer something different from many of their competitors.

The iPhone 5 is coming soon and the iPhone 4S is available now.

How Screens Compare On The Sony Xperia S And The Huawei Ascend D1

There are three many companies who have dominated the smartphone market over the last two years. Apple, Samsung and HTC continue to produce excellent handsets that offer stylish looks and superb specification. Here we take a look at two excellent phones available from other manufacturers that are capable of competing with the very best that the big names can offer. We see what the Sony Xperia S and the Huawei Ascend D1 can offer in terms of screen technology and camera facilities.

The Sony Xperia S incorporates a high quality display that could be regarded as the best that is currently available on any device. The phone uses a 4.3 inch LED backlit LCD screen capable of producing stunning images and wonderful colours. The phone offers a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels which means that the pixel density measures a remarkable 342PPI. This is the first phone to exceed what the famous iPhone 4S offers in this department. The display is a capacitive touch panel that supports multi touch input meaning that the screen can register numerous points of contact at the same time. The Ascend D1 would over shadow many rival phones with its excellent display but unfortunately it does not quite offer the quality that is present on the Sony model. A 4.5 inch Super IPS panel is capable of displaying an identical resolution as the Xperia S but the extra screen size means that the pixel density on offer drops to 326PPI. The device produces extremely high quality on all material that we viewed and model also supports multi touch input. If you are looking to purchase a mobile phone and screen quality is your most important feature then these two handsets should be at the top of your list.

Things are not quite so evenly matched when we look at the camera features that are offered by both models. The Sony Xperia S offers a camera that benefits from the use of the excellent Exmor R sensor chip that they use in many of their dedicated still cameras. The phone is capable of capturing images at a resolution of 12 million pixels and a wide array of additional features are present to help users make the most of this facility including touch focus, face detection and an impressive 3D Sweep Panorama mode. Video capture is equally as impressive with 1080P resolution footage offering superb HD quality. The Ascend D1 offers a camera package that competes well with the majority of premium smartphones that are available. An 8 mega pixel main camera captures a very high quality of image and like the Sony model a number of great additional features accompany this facility including a dual LED flash and auto focus. This model can also capture 1080P video which is perfect if you are looking to view the footage on a large screen television or computer monitor. Both device also include front facing cameras for video calling which can also record video at 720P and capture photographs at a resolution of 1.3 mega pixels.

The Sony Xperia S and the Huawei Ascend D1 are both great alternatives to more popular models like the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the iPhone 4S. Screen technology is particularly impressive on both handsets but the Sony does offer a little more in terms of photo quality.

The Sony Xperia S and the iPhone 4S are available now.

The New iPhone 4S-Facebook Likely To Become Part Of The OS

There are many reason why the public seem to adore the iPhone 4S. Many people love the great combination of glass and aluminium that makes the phone look very different from its rivals. Other people like the dual core processing power that the model offers. Most users of the phone will however suggest that excellent iOS operating software is what makes the phone stand out from the crowd. The iPhone 4S was launched with an updated operating system that included Twitter integration and it looks as though the new update that will be launched along with the iPad 3 may incorporate Facebook facilities for the first time.

Rumours about the latest iOS software featuring Facebook functionality began to surface in January when software experts discovered a field for the users Facebook ID within the Contacts application on the Beta version of this new software. More evidence has surfaced that suggests that the worlds largest social networking site will be an integral part of the new software which will be made available for the iPhone 4S as well as new Apple products that are being released this year. Several months ago any updates or data posted on the site from a mobile device would be tagged as being “sent by mobile”. Recently any updates posted from the iPhone application have changed to “sent by iPhone” and a similar message is shown for anybody using the iPad. This may seem quite a minor change but the fact that it has occured just hours before the official launch of the iPad 3 along with iOS 5.1 suggests that Facebook may be joining Twitter as an important part of the Apple platform.

If the rumours are true then this latest version of the software should see some big improvements in functionality for anybody who uses the Facebook service. The iPhone 4S incorporates a high quality camera and any photographs or video footage recorded on this phone will now be able to be posted directly to Facebook. At present users need to save the material to their Camera Roll and then launch the Facebook application in order to upload material. Notifications will also appear differently with users able to assign a specific alert tone for incoming notifications. We can expect to be able to post a host of other material directly to the site such as information from Google maps and content being viewed from within the Safri web browser that is incorporated on the phone.

It is almost certain that Apple will announce some sort of Facebook integration at their event which starts on the 7th March 2012. This new feature will see the appeal of the platform boosted and therefore have a positive effect on the sale of products that use the software such as the iPhone 4S and the new iPad3.

The iPhone 4S is available now and the iPhone 5 is coming soon.

Attractive Design On The HTC One X And The Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Recently HTC have been overshadowed by the likes of Apple and Samsung in the smartphone market. In an effort to compete with these other manufacturers the Taiwanese company have unveiled a new simplified range of very impressive handsets. The flagship model in this range is the new HTC One X so we take a look at how this model compares with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, one of the best devices currently available.

In terms of dimensions both of these handsets are very similar as they both use the same size of display. Despite the two screens being identical in size there is a noticeable difference in performance. The HTC One X uses and SLCD display that measures 4.7 inches and is capable of displaying a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The Galaxy Nexus screen uses Super AMOLED technology and is capable of displaying exactly the same resolution. When we compare the two it is the HTC phone that impresses us more in this department. Despite the Samsung offering a very bright image quality when you decrease the brightness level users will notice a more grainy picture. When we used the two phones we also found that there was a higher level of sharpness evident on the One X. Another difference in the two screens is that the Samsung screen dedicates some of its area to accommodating the Back, Home and Task Switcher buttons. One the HTC model these buttons are located beneath the screen which means that the user has more area available on the display for performing other tasks.

Both the HTC One X and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus are attractive mobile phones that boasts stunning looks and great design. The Galaxy Nexus is an extremely slim mobile phone measuring just 10.9mm in depth and weighing 129 grammes. Despite the HTC handset weighing the same amount the developers have managed to offer an even slimmer depth on this model of just 8.9mm. Just like other models in the Galaxy range of devices the Nexus uses plastic material on the back panel which looks fantastic but does make the phone feel slightly less premium than some of its rivals. The One X body is made from a single piece of machined polycarbonate. This material offers a matte finish on the rear of the phone but a more glossy texture at the sides which helps you to slide your finger across the screen with less effort. The model also uses a screen that is slightly curved rather than the traditional flat panel as is used on the Galaxy Nexus and many other handsets. The two phones both look superb and offer great dimensions and eye catching looks but we feel that the HTC is more impressive in this area thanks to the single piece body which really does look and feel fantastic.

There is no question that the HTC One X and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will both prove to be very popular phones throughout 2012. Despite both phones offering very similar specification we prefer the clarity of the screen on the HTC device and the design on this model is also very hard to beat.

The HTC One X and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus are available now.

An Overview Of Processors On The Sony Xperia S And The Panasonic Eluga

Sony and Panasonic are two names that we associate with home entertainment devices such as LCD Televisions and Blu Ray disc players. These two brands have released new mobile phones for 2012 which compete with some of the big names in the mobile world such as Apple, HTC and Samsung. We take a look at screen technology and processing power on the new Sony Xperia S and the Panasonic Eluga.

The new Panasonic Eluga features a high quality display that will help the company to compete with some of the best phones currently available. The model uses a 4.3 inch OLED screen which can display a resolution of 960 x 540 pixes. The use of OLED technology is what impresses us most about this new model. It is widely accepted that OLED is the future of display panels and many manufacturers are developing their own screens that use this technology. The screen does enable the handset to display a very colourful image while viewing angles are also superb. In terms of pixel density the Eluga can display 256PPI and the screen also support multi touch input. The Sony Xperia S offers one of the best screens that we have ever seen on a mobile device. The LED backlit 4.3 inch display offers a massive resolution of 1280 x 720 which means that the pixel density is 342PPI. The Xperia S is the first device to better what the iPhone 4S can offer in terms of pixel density and set a new benchmark for mobile screens. Image quality is superb and colours are reproduced superbly. The Panasonic Eluga offers a high quality screen but it simply cannot match the awesome visuals that the new Xperia S can produce.

Things are a little more evenly matched when it comes to processing power on these two devices. The Sony Xperia S incorporates a powerful chipset which includes a 1.5 Ghz dual core Qualcomm MSM8260 S3 Snapdragon processor. This powerful processor should ensure that the model delivers exceptionally fast operation speeds and effortless multi tasking features. An Adreno 220 graphics processing unit means that this model is perfect for playing the most demanding games titles that are currently available. The Panasonic Eluga uses a slightly less powerful 1Ghz dual core Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 processor. Despite this chip being less powerful than the one found on the Xperia S it performs at similar speeds thanks to the clever use of a dual channel memory which helps the phone to fully utilse both of the cores that are present on the processor. A PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit should deliver a gaming experience very similar to what the Sony handset can offer.

These two brand new devices both impress with their superb screens and powerful processor. The Sony Xperia S does outshine its rival in the display department but to be fair the phone currently outperforms every other phone available in this area. Things are evenly matched in terms of processing with both models delivering a fast and efficient user experience.

The Sony Xperia S and the HTC Sensation XE are available now.

The HTC One X Just One Of Three New HTC Handsets

At the a recent World Mobile Congress which was held in Barcelona we saw a number of phone manufacturers unveil new handsets and accessories that they hope will see them increase their market share during 2012. One of the most impressive ranges that was announced at this convention was the new HTC line up of devices. We take a look at the new simplified range which includes the superb new HTC One X.

In an effort to keep the range simple there have been three new models announced by the manufacturer. The flagship model in this line up is the new HTC One X and this is joined by the One V and the One S. The HTC One V is designed to be the entry level smartphone in the range. The model incorporates a high quality 3.7 inch screen which can display a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels which equates to a pixel density of 252PPI. The model is the smallest handset in the range as it uses the smallest screen and the phone measure just 120.3 x 59.7 x 9.2mm and weighs just 115 grammes. In terms of processing power the handset runs from a single core 1Ghz processor which is accompanied by 512MB of RAM. The model will be shipped with the very latest Ice Cream Sandwich version of the Android operating system which makes the model slightly more appealing than many other entry level devices. A digital still camera is present which can capture photographs at a resolution of 5 mega pixels and 720P video footage.

The HTC One S is designed to by the mid range device and offers improvements over the One V in most areas. A larger 4.3 Super AMOLED screen is present on this model which also offers an increased resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. This means that the pixel density of the model is 256PPI. The handset uses a much more powerful processor than the basic model which will appeal to many consumers. A dual core 1.5Ghz Krait processor ensures that the phone is perfect for people who want to multi task while a superb Adreno 225 graphics processing unit means that the model can easily handle the most demanding of games titles. An 8 mega pixel camera is fitted on the model which can also record HD footage at a maximum resolution of 1080P.

The flagship model in the new range is the new HTC One X. This model is the first quad core device ever released by HTC and uses and very powerful 1.5Ghz processor together with a ULP GeForce graphics processing unit. This excellent phone offers a huge 4.7 inch Super IPS LCD2 screen which offers a massive resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. This high resolution really does boost the pixel density offered by this model and a very substantial 312 pixels can be displayed per inch. The model offers the same video and camera resolution as the One S but a few more features are present on this premium device. Users can record video and take photographs at the same time which can prove very useful and there is also the option to hold your finger on the camera shutter button to take a series of snaps at intervals of 0.7 seconds. This gives you a number of final photographs and the user can simply chose their favourite and discard the rest of them.

This new simple range of phones from HTC does seem to cover all bases. The HTC One V is a great entry level model while the One S will compete directly with other popular models like the iPhone 4S and the Samsung Galaxy S2. The impressive new HTC One X is one of the very best phones currently available thanks to its quad core processor and extremely high quality display.

The HTC One X and the HTC Sensation XL are available now.

Two Great Camera Phones-The HTC One X And The LG Optimus 4X HD

The HTC One X and the LG Optimus 4X HD are the very first mobile phones released in the UK that incorporate powerful quad core processors. The two models use identical chipsets which means that there is no difference in performance from the two devices. We take a look at some other areas of both phones such as camera facilities and storage capacity to see if things are as evenly matched or if there is a model that offers superior facilities.

HTC devices have never been famed for their camera features so it is pleasing that the developers have focused on this area with this new model. The HTC One X undoubtedly offers the best camera package of any handset that the company have ever released. The primary camera on the phone enables users to capture photographs at a resolution of 8 mega pixels. A high quality BSI sensor is present to ensure that photographs maintain a natural depth and quality that is often lacking on many smartphones. A host of additional features are present which can be found on numerous other models but the device does boast one trick not found on rival phones. The One X has the ability to record video footage and also allow the user to capture a still photograph at the same time. Video is recorded at Full HD resolution of 1080P while the secondary front facing camera offer 1.3 mega pixel photos and 720P resolution video footage. The LG Optimus 4X HD also incorporates a high quality camera that offers an identical resolution to the One X. The model offers a wide range of features to help users take the perfect photograph including touch focus and image stabilisation. In terms of video capture the device can record 1080P video footage from the primary camera and 720P material from the secondary unit. The LG does offer an impressive camera suite but we feel HTC have taken things a step further with some truly useful feature that will benefit many users.

The HTC One X comes supplied with a large internal storage capacity of 32GB. It look as though the manufacturers are not planning to release models offering different amounts of storage. 32GB should provide ample space for the majority of phone users but if you do find yourself getting close to capacity a further 25GB is available from the Dropbox Cloud storage facility that comes installed on the phone. The One X does not offer a micro SD card slot which is a minor disappointment. The LG Optimus 4X HD comes with a much smaller internal storage capacity of 16GB bit this is backed up by the presence of a micro SD card slot. This means that if the users chooses to add a 32GB card to this device they are effectively carrying a phone with 48GB of potential storage space. Users of the LG phone also have the option to subscribe to cloud based storage systems to further increase the capacity that is available.

These two new models offer some superb features that make them two of the best phones currently available. The HTC One X impresses us more in the camera department thanks to neat features such as the ability to record video and capture photographs at the same time. The device also offers a larger internal storage capacity although we feel many users may like the versatility that a micro SD card slot offers which is an option on the LG Optimus 4X HD.

The HTC One X and the Samsung Galaxy S2 are available now.

We Compare Cameras On The Sony Xperia S And The Panasonic Eluga

We have recently seen numerous new mobile smartphones unveiled from a number of different manufacturers. Two of the most impressive devices that we have seen are the Sony Xperia S and the new Panasonic Eluga. We have a look at the camera facilities and storage capacity present on both of these handsets to see which model offers the best package for the consumer.

Camera facilities on modern mobile devices are improving all of the time and the new Sony Xperia S is a great example of how far this technology can be taken. It is obvious that the developers at Sony have been working hard to ensure that this model delivers unrivaled photography features and they have succeeded. The phone can capture images at a staggering resolution of 12 million pixels which is higher than nearly every other device currently available. Sony have opted to use their own Exmor R sensor on this model which is used in many of the dedicated digital still cameras that the company produce. This helps the phone to deliver a quality of image that is not normally possible form a mobile device. A number of useful features accompany the camera including a very clever 3D Sweep Panorama mode. Video footage is recorded at 1080P resolution while the secondary camera delivers 720P video footage and 1.3 mega pixel still photographs. The Pansonic Eluga delivers a superb photography package which may fall short of what the Sony offers but certainly competes well against other rival phones. The handset can capture still shots at 8 mega pixel resolution and a number of additional features are present to help user get the best possible results from this facility. These extra features include an LED flash which is ideal for poor lighting conditions and a digital zoom to help you get a little bit closer to your subject. Video recording on this model is impressive at 1080P Full HD resolution while the secondary camera offers the same quality as the Xperia S with 720P video and 1.3 mega pixel still images.

Neither of the two devices that we are looking at offer an external micro SD card slot so users will have to make the most of the other storage options that are available to them. The Sony Xperia S comes with a massive internal storage capacity of 32GB together with 1GB of RAM memory. If the user should ever need to expand on this storage space there are numerous remote storage applications available that come with a designated amount of Cloud storage. It is unlikely however that users will require this however with such a large amount of storage incorporated on the phone. Users of the Panasonic Eluga are more likely to need to rely upon the used of an alternative storage method. The phone offers 8GB of internal memory and 1GB of RAM. It is worth considering that the Panasonic device does require less storage capacity for photography as it offers a lower still shot resolution that takes up less space per photograph.

The Sony Xperia S and the Panasonic Eluga are two excellent mobile phones that offer superb multi media features. The Panasonic offers a great photography package but the Sony model goes a step further by boosting resolution to 12 million pixels and by using a very high quality sensor. Storage capacity is slightly disappointing on both models as there is no micro SD card slot but this should not prove a major problem with numerous Cloud storage services currently available.

The Sony Xperia S and the iPhone 4S are available now.

Super Note the Perfect notes Application For The iPhone 4S

The new iPhone 4S is a superb mobile phone that offers a range of facilities that can help users on a daily basis. Many iPhone users add to the native applications that come installed on the phone by downloading new ones available from the iTunes App Store. We take a look at Super Note, a new application that enhances two of the more basic features that come supplied with the device.

The Notes and Voice Recorder applications that come installed on the iPhone 4S are perfect for taking quick notes but the two features offer very little in terms of functionality. The new Super Note application allows users to perform all of the tasks that they would on the phones native apps but the software also incorporates an intuitive interface and beautiful aesthetics. When you initially install the application you do have to spend a couple of minutes setting up your account but after this the application launches almost instantly which is vital if you need to quickly record a voice or text note. The visuals really are impressive on this new software and it is evident that much thought has gone into the interface of this application. The screen is clutter free thanks to any menus and keyboards automatically hiding themselves when not in use. This leaves the whole display available for users to read or manage their notes.

The Super Note application for the iPhone 4S does provide a number of options that are sadly lacking on the native applications. There are four categories available where all notes can be stored which are labelled Lecture, Memo, Note and Meeting. Each of these categories is assigned a different colour which makes it easier to select the option you require from the main screen. Unfortunately users do not have the option to add their own categories which could have further enhanced the appeal of this software. There is an icon on screen which allows you to make a voice recording which is instantly attached to the note that you currently have open. Multiple audio recording can be attached to each individual page. Once notes have been created is is simple to export them to external programmes such as Facebook and Twitter or send them as an e mail.

The Super Note application for the iPhone 4S is a simple and well designed piece of software which will benefit many users. The application cleverly combines note taking with audio recordings and presents them in a format that is easy to navigate and manage.

The iPhone 4S and the Blackberry Bold 9900 are available now.

The New Sony Xperia S And The HTC One S-We Explore Chipsets On These Models

As we begin to look at the dozens of new smartphones that have been unveiled at recent conventions there are several models that stand out from the crowd. Two such models are the new Sony Xperia S and the HTC One S. These devices are produced by two of the heavyweights of the smartphone world and offer a wealth of excellent features. We take a look at camera facilities present on each device and also see how the models compare for processing power.

it is fair to say that both of the two models that we are looking at really excel when it comes to camera facilities. The HTC offers a superb package that comprises of an 8 mega pixel still camera and a video recording feature that can capture video at 1080P resolution. For still photographs the device benefits from a back illuminated sensor that help the model to produce a very high quality of image. A wide array of additional features are present including an LED flash, geo tagging and face detection to help the device focus on peoples faces within the shot. One particularly impressive aspect of this camera facility is the fact that the phone allows you to record HD video and take photographs simultaneously, a feature we have not seen included on any other device. In terms of the secondary camera 720P video can be recorded along with 1.3 mega pixel photographs. The HTC offers a very impressive camera feature but the Xperia S takes things a step further with its superb 12 mega pixel resolution. When you combine resolution this high with the excellent Exmor R sensor that the phone uses the results are stunning. Once again a wide array of additional features are present including image stabilisation and a 3D panoramic mode that catches clever photographs of your entire surroundings. Video footage is equally as impressive at 1080P resolution while the secondary camera offers the exact quality as can be found on the HTC One S.

The majority of new premium handsets that are being released are offering dual core processors and both of these models use this type of chip. The Sony Xperia S utilises a powerful 1.5Ghz Qualcomm S3 Snapdragon processor with twin cores to deliver superb performance speeds. This processor is accompanied by an Adreno 220 graphics processing unit that easily handles the most demanding graphics like what you may find on many new games that are being released. The HTC One uses a powerful chipset that exceeds what the Sony device offers. The model runs on the new Snapdragon S4 Krait processor which is clocked at 1.5Ghz and uses dual cores. A powerful graphics processing unit partners this processor in the form of an Adreno 225 chip. Despite the Sony device delivering exceptionally fast operation speeds the improved GPU fitted on the HTC device enables the phone to handle complex graphics with less effort.

The Sony Xperia S and the HTC One S both offer some excellent specification when it comes to camera features and processing power. The Sony device provides a camera facility that we feel is the best on the market but the new HTC phone performs slightly better in the processing department thanks to the more advanced chipset that it uses.

The Sony Xperia S and the Motorola Razr are available now.

A Screen Comparison Of The Sony Xperia S And The HTC One S

In January the CES show in Las Vegas saw several new smartphones unveiled with one of the stand out models being the excellent new Sony Xperia S. One month later the Mobile World Congress was held in Barcelona and several more new models were announced. The highlight of this show was the new HTC One range which includes three new devices. We take a look at the new Sony handset and the HTC One S and see how the models compare in terms of design and display technology.

The Arc range of phones that were developed by Sony Ericsson were some of the most attractive handsets of 2011 so it is no great surprise that the new Sony Xperia S looks very similar in terms of design. A concave back panel contrasts nicely with the angled corners that give the phone a very modern and almost futuristic look. Sony have also opted to fit a transparent strip beneath the display of the phone which makes the model look very different from any other model currently available. The device is constructed mainly from a plastic material but rather than making the phone feel cheap it actually feels well constructed and robust. The Xperia S is not the smallest device with an overall measurement of 128 x 64 x 10.6 and a weight of 144 grammes but it is certainly one of the most attractive. HTC have never been a manufacturer that pushes the boundaries with their designs and this is very evident on the Ons S device. The model is very neat and attractive but does not stray very far from the design boasted by many of last years handsets. The model offers rounded corners and the overall body could almost be described as pebble shaped. The screen on the phone dominates almost the entire front panel with a tiny bezel surrounding it. At 7.8mm in depth the phone is the slimmest device ever produced by HTC and at around 119.5 grammes in weight it is also over 20 grammes lighter than the Sony model. Both of these models are attractive devices but the Xperia S certainly looks the more stylish thanks to its angular design and the attractive strip which sets the phone apart from its rivals.

Many of the smartphones due this year are offering superb screen quality and the Sony Xperia S and the HTC One S are no exception. The Sony utilises a large 4.3 inch display which is perfect for all manner of uses including video playback and web browsing. The screen is LED backlit and can display a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. This means that the device can display a massive 342 pixels per inch which exceeds what is on offer on the excellent iPhone 4S. The model also uses scratch resistant glass to keep the phone looking in perfect condition for longer. The One S from HTC uses the same size of screen as the Sony but offers a lower resolution of 960 x 540 pixels which means that the model offers a lower pixel density of 256 pixels per inch. One impressive aspect of the display used on this model is that it utilises Super AMOLED technology which helps to produce colourful and vivid images. Both of these displays are capacitive touch panels that support multi touch input. Despite the use of the impressive Super AMOLED technology on the HTC device the screen does match the superb quality that is evident on the Xperia S.

As 2012 progresses the Sony Xperia S and the HTC One S will undoubtedly prove a huge success with consumers thanks to their modern looks and excellent displays. When comparing the two however we found the Sony not only offered the more striking design but also a screen that is better than every other phone currently available.

The Sony Xperia S and the HTC Sensation XL are available now.

The Samsung Galaxy S3-An Introduction To The New Exynos Processor

Samsung have enjoyed great success with their Galaxy range of mobile phones and the company are hoping this will continue in 2012 with the release of the Samsung Galaxy S3, their new flagship model. Although exact specification has not been confirmed it is widely believed that this model will incorporate the latest Exynos processor developed by Samsung.

With HTC recently unveiling new models that include a quad core processor it looks likely that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will follow this trend and boast a quad core processor of its own. The advantage of a quad core processor is that it will vastly improve operation speeds on several areas of the handset. One area where users will notice a big improvement in operation speeds is when using the web browser. Although this application does not require much power on it own it does require several background programmes to be running for elements such as internet connectivity and multi media playback. These individual components all benefit from multiple cores and therefore the overall browsing experience will be enhanced.

There are numerous other areas of the Samsung Galaxy S3 that will benefit from an increased number of cores but one area where users may notice a big improvement is when it comes to multi tasking facilities. The fact that each core of the processor can be dedicated to performing a single task means that in theory the device can be performing four individual tasks at the same time without having a negative effect on the phones performance. As more applications than ever become available this is a crucial element in ensuring a phones success. Most phone users multi task at this moment in time. This can be a simple as listening to music while browsing the internet or reading a message while you are playing a game. The more applications that become available, the more chance there is that user will want to use more than two of them at the same time. The new Exynos chipset will also have a positive effect on the battery life of the phone as individual cores can be shut down when not in use. In addition to this the processor has also been designed to be more efficient than ever.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 looks set to be a very special mobile handset. The new Exynos processor will deliver improved operating speeds to the consumer while offering improved battery life at the same time.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is coming soon and the Samsung Galaxy Note is available now.

The Blackberry Bold 9790-NFC Campaign Launched By Orange And EAT

A number of new mobile smartphones are being launched this year that incorporate NFC technology. There are some lucky consumers however who already have this exciting facility on their devices. The new Blackberry Bold 9790 is a handset that boasts NFC to enable users to easily exchange data and automatically pay for goods and services. As a way of promoting this exciting facility UK network provider Orange have teamed up with EAT, a snack food chain, to offer users of this device free treats and meal upgrades.

This exciting new promotion from Orange encourages users of devices like the Blackberry Bold 9790 to use the NFC features that are incorporated on their smartphone. Various food establishments throughout the United Kingdom will be displaying promotional posters that have an NFC tag incorporated. When users of this model on the Orange network see one of these they can hold their device in front of the poster and they will automatically be entered into a daily draw which can win them a meal upgrade or even some free food. Prizes on offer include a free baguettes and drinks and also the chance to pay for a small meal and receive a large one at no extra cost. Users can download this application from the Blackberry App World or through the official Orange online store. Developers are also hoping to launch an Android version for devices like the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The promotion is starting in early March 2012 and 110 branches of Eat are going to be participating. Orange customers will receive a text message to let them know the exact date that the offer will start.

NFC is certainly a feature that we will see incorporated into numerous new models throughout the year. Several models including the Blackberry Bold 9790 and 9900 already feature the technology and many new devices such as the iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S3 are set to boast the feature. When NFC was first introduced the fact that users could use their mobile device to pays for goods was the area that much attention was focused on. It is now becoming clear that this short range wireless technology can offer plenty of alternative uses. This current Orange promotion illustrates how NFC tags can be used commercially and Sony have also released their own NFC Tags which are designed to be used domestically to alter the settings on the consumers smartphone. If you have a friend or colleague with an NFC device then it is simple to use the technology to transfer files from one handset to another. Music, video and photographs can easily be transferred without the need for complicated software or sending the files as an e mail attachment.

The new campaign from Orange and EAT will enable users of phones such as the Blackberry Bold 9790 to experience just how beneficial NFC technology can be. It will only be a matter of time before it becomes a standard feature on all smartphones just like features that we are now accustomed to such as Bluetooth and GPS.

The Blackberry Bold 9790 and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus are available now.

The New Samsung Galaxy Note Benefits From New Games Controller

As modern mobile phones become more powerful and as screen quality improves we are seeing numerous games titles released that really push the boundaries for mobile gaming. One of the ultimate handsets to enjoy a great mobile gaming experience with is the Samsung Galaxy Note thanks to its very large display and powerful processing power. As the demands for games titles increases so does the demand for accessories that enhance the gaming experience. We take a look at the new Gametel Bluetooth Controller that has been released for the Galaxy Note.

As many modern smartphones do not feature any physical buttons the user is often required to use the screen as a controller for the majority of games. The exception to the rule is games that only require you to tilt the phone but there are very few such games available and the ones that are tend to be very basic. Even when using a large screen like the 5.3 inch display fitted on the Samsung Galaxy Note when your fingers are occupying some of the display it does not leave much room for your to view the action. This is where the new Gametel Bluetooth Controller can really benefit. At £50 it is not the cheapest accessory that you can purchase but it is an essential piece of kit for anybody who is serious about their mobile gaming. This new controller connects to the device via Bluetooth and features a large control pad with a spring loaded gripping arm located above it that can hold your phone in the landscape position. When in use the device resembles the kind of set up we experienced with the superb Sony Ericsson Xperia Play. The actual controller features an 8 way directional pad that lets you move your characters or vehicles around the screen and a set of four buttons on the right hand side that can perform various functions. There are also shoulder triggers located on the top of the controller to enable you to enjoy the type of control that you can experience from devices like the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360.

Connecting this new controller to your Samsung Galaxy Note is a very straightforward task. On the back of the box that comes supplied is a special code that directs you to the official Gametel application in the Android Marketplace. Users then have to download the official application which will ask you to then pair the new controller with your Galaxy Note. After a few seconds of connection time the devices are paired and the two will automatically connect to one another on all future occasions. The majority of games will automatically adapt their controls to match the new control pad but users should look for titles that boast Xperia Play support if they want to be sure of this. A rechargeable battery is incorporated in the controller and this can easily be charged with a micro USB cable. There is no cable supplied in the box but this should not pose much of a problem for users as they can make use of the one that comes supplied with the phone.

The Samsung Galaxy Note offers the ultimate mobile gaming experience and this is enhanced by the Gametel Bluetooth Controller. This controller offers a similar setup to what you can find on dedicated games consoles and will appeal to anybody who enjoys playing modern games titles on their handset.

An Overview Of Design On The Samsung Galaxy S3 And The Galaxy S

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is set to be the newest model introduced into the popular Galaxy range of mobile devices. This model is set to boast some of the highest mobile specification possible in almost every department. We look at what to expect from this model and see how that differs from what was featured on the original Galaxy S device in 2010.

The first thing that many consumers notice when looking at a mobile device is its design. An attractive phone immediately grabs the attention of the consumer so manufacturers are constantly trying to develop the slimmest phones possible for this reason. When the original Galaxy S was launched back in 2010 it was the slimmest device on the market with an overall depth of just 9.9mm. The new Samsung Galaxy S3 is set to offer a depth of just 7mm which really does sound impressive. Improvements in screen and battery technology have enabled developers to offer more features in a chassis that is smaller than ever. It also looks likely that this new model may be the first Galaxy device that does not feature a plastic back panel. Samsung have always used this strong plastic on their devices as it is cheap to produce and offers great durability at a minimal weight. The problem was however that many users commented that this material made the phone feel and look quite cheap. It is rumoured that the new S3 will feature a ceramic back panel in an attempt to make the device appeal on an aesthetic level. Thanks to this new material together with the larger screen it is likely that the overall weight will increase from the 119 grammes that was offered on the Galaxy S.

One other area of the modern smartphone that is highly attractive to consumers is the multi media features that are on offer. Every smartphone incorporates a digital still camera and many also offer video recording features. The new Samsung Galaxy S3 should really excel in this department if the rumours surrounding its specification are true. The model will incorporate a primary camera facility capable of taking photographs with a resolution of 12 mega pixels, the same amount as the brand new Sony Xperia S. A secondary camera will also be available for video calling and this should also be able to capture a 2 mega pixel image. These figures are a vast improvement on the Samsung Galaxy S which offered a 5 mega pixel main camera and VGA snaps from the secondary device. The new model will also offer users Full HD video recording at 1080P resolution rather than the 720P standard that was present on the original phone.

The new Samsung Galaxy S3 looks destined to become one of the most exciting smartphone launches of 2012. The model should include some excellent design improvements and feature the very best camera and video recording features available.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is coming soon and the Sony Xperia S is available now.

The iPhone 4S-A Review Of Two Great Extras

Since its release in October 2011 a huge number of iPhone 4S handsets have been sold with over 4 million units shifting in the very first weekend. With so many of these devices in circulation there are dozens of manufacturers developing accessories for this excellent mobile phone. We take a look at two of very best additional extras that are available for this excellent device.

The iPhone 4S comes with a very basic mains charger but many users decide to purchase a docking station to perform this task. In addition to charging the phone a docking station incorporates speakers so that users can enjoy audio content from their phone in a higher quality than can be achieved from the speakers built in to the handset. The iDapt S1 is a superb docking solution that offers some excellent functions not present on many similar devices. The docking station is capable of charging up to four different devices at the same time. This will appeal to fans of Apple products as it means that the iPhone 4S can be charging at the same time as their iPad. Rather than using a series of wires to perform these tasks the base station is supplied with a set of interchangeable tips designed to fit almost every mobile device. This keeps the unit looking very neat and makes it perfect for a bedside table or an office desk. An FM radio and clock are both fitted in the unit which also makes it perfect for use as an alarm clock or for listening to radio broadcasts.

Some of the very best ideas are the simplest and the Smartphones Experts S&C Retractable Cable is a perfect example of this. This is a basic charging cable for the iPhone 4S but one where you can adjust the length thanks to a clever winding mechanism positioned in the middle of the cable. The idea behind this design is to help users to reduce clutter in their home by allowing them to use the exact cable length that they require. At its shortest length this new design measures just 4.5 inches in length and it can be extended to over 24 inches in length. This will appeal to iPhone users who become frustrated at the short length of the cable that comes supplied with the phone. The innovation is a easy to carry around and makes charging your device or connecting to a computer a much neater affair.

There are a wealth of excellent accessories available for the iPhone 4S and the two we have looked at are just two examples. The iDapt provides a superb docking station with potential for charging multiple units while the retractable cable is incredibly simple yet effective.

The iPhone 4S and the iPhone 4 8GB are available now.
