The New Samsung Galaxy Nexus-Battery Boost With New Update

Since it release towards the end of 2011 the Samsung Galaxy Nexus has been a success with consumers thanks to its excellent operating system and stylish design. As with most new handsets however there are several problems that users have encountered when using this model. Programmers at XDA Developers have now launched an update for this model that seems to resolve many of these issues.

One area where the Samsung Galaxy Nexus has encountered some problems is when sending an MMS message. Many users have experienced problems when they attach a photograph to a message and this content is never sent to the intended recipient. Many users have got around the problem by downloading a separate application to perform this task but sending the data with the built in application is a much faster and more simple affair. This new update cured this issue and from reports that we have heard nobody has encountered any further problems in this area. Several other improvements are apparent after installing this unofficial update. The volume during calls has also been improved after many people reported that call quality was poor due to them being unable to clearly hear who they were speaking to. Users have also noted that the camera application now launches much quicker than before meaning that you are more likely to capture the moment perfectly. Battery life has also been considerably boosted and one person reported that 15 hours of use on the phone only consumed just 11% of the battery capacity.

Despite these well documented issues the Samsung Galaxy Nexus remains one of the leading mobile handsets currently available. The device is the first model released to incorporate the new Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system which offers numerous improvements over earlier versions including improved visuals and faster operation. Another area that really impresses us with this new model is the high definition quality display. This screen shows a resolution of 280 x 720 pixels and measures 4.65 inches which not only makes it one of the largest displays available but also one of the best. Although the large screen size means that the phone is not one of the smallest available it does have advantages in many areas including web browsing, movie playback and mobile gaming. Looks wise the model catches the eye with its slim profile and neatly curved edges. Physical buttons are kept to a minimum and the front of the model is dominated by the large screen.

There are many reasons why consumers are opting for the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The update launched by XDA Developers eliminates the few problems that the model did encounter and the final result is a near faultless smartphone.

The New Samsung Galaxy Nexus-Mcafee Produce An Excellent New Security Suite

One of the advantages of Android handsets such as the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is that they give the user access to a variety of internet services and online facilities. The problem with using features such as these is that they increase the risk of contracting a virus or a security threat on the device. Online security company Mcafee have released a comprehensive security suite to help protect your Android device against threats such as these.

The Mcafee Mobile Security 2.0 suit is a comprehensive package designed to help keep your Android phone safe. The system can be used on all devices that run version 2.1 of the operating system through to the latest Ice Cream Sandwich version that is used on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. One of the key features of this new software package is the App Alert service. App Alert provides the user with a host of information about the applications that they have downloaded and how they are using your personal information. Android is the most popular operating system in the UK and for this reason handsets are particularly vulnerable to phishing attacks where malicious software attempts to steal information from your device. App Alert helps safeguard your phone against attacks such as this.

The Mcafee software for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is not only superb for keeping you safe from malicious software but it can also help you to stop receiving calls and messages from unwanted numbers. You can designate any numbers that you do not wish to receive calls or messages from and the software automatically blocks any contact. This feature may prove particularly useful if you receive nuisance or threatening calls. The security software also works superbly if your phone is not in your possession. If you access your account from a Firefox or Internet Explorer browser then you are given the facility to track your phone if you have misplaced it. If you fail to find the device then you are given the option to lock the handset and completely wipe the contents. The security suite is not the cheapest package available at £24.99 for a one year subscription but when you compare this to the cost of replacing a phone such as the Galaxy Nexus then it seems a wise investment.

Users of Android phones such as the Samsung Galaxy Nexus can gain numerous benefits from the new Mcafee software package. In addition to keeping your personal data safe the suite does a great job of filtering unwanted calls and even offers facilities to help you should you lose your phone.

How Specification Differs On The Samsung Galaxy Nexus And The Galaxy S2 HD

The Samsung Galaxy S2 was the biggest selling mobile handset of 2012 and Samsung are looking to continue this success in 2012 with two fresh. We take a look at the rumoured Samsung Galaxy S2 HD and also the new Galaxy Nexus, a device that was unveiled at the end of 2011.

Although we have had no official confirmation from Samsung, a leading mobile phone website in the UK has recently featured an advert for a new Galaxy S2 HD model. The original Galaxy S2 is approaching its first birthday so the fact that a new model may be waiting to step into its shoes is no great surprise although many experts predicted that this would be the Galaxy S3. It seems as though Samsung may hold this model back until later in the year and launch the S2 HD in the coming weeks. Although the UK release of this model has not been confirmed details on the model can be found on Samsung’s Australian website. In terms of design the new HD model looks very similar to the original S2 with a black plastic back panel and a trio of three buttons located beneath the phones display. The screen size of this model has increased to 4.6 inches from 4.3 inches and the same Super AMOLED technology is used to help produce great viewing angles together with excellent colour reproduction. The phones looks set to run on the popular Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and include a high quality 8 mega pixel camera. Other major differences on this new model look set to be the inclusion of an NFC chip and an updated 1.5Ghz dual core processor that should ensure that the model is one of the fastest phones available.

Samsung will offer numerous lower specification models throughout the year but it looks as though the Galaxy S2 HD will sit alongside the superb Samsung Galaxy Nexus at the top of the range. It is difficult to differentiate between these two models although the Nexus looks set to be the highlight of the range thanks to its use of the new Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, the first model released to run on this platform. This will make the Nexus popular with those looking for the very latest technology while the S2 HD will appeal to the mass market who will immediately associate the model with its popular predecessor. The Galaxy Nexus offers the same size 4.6 inch display which is capable of displaying a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The model is slightly more pleasing on the eye than the S2 HD and blends some gorgeous curves with an attractive black finish that really makes the model stand out from its competitors.

Despite producing dozens of different handsets the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the Galaxy S2 HD will be the premier devices that are offered by the brand. The Galaxy Nexus appeals thanks to the software that is on offer while the forthcoming S2 HD includes some of the best hardware currently available.

The Key Android Model For 2012 Is The New Samsung Galaxy Nexus

There are a number of different mobile operating systems battling with one another to increase their market share in 2012. We have recently seen platforms from Windows and Apple enjoy an increase but the system they will all be looking to beat is Android, the popular software used by a number of leading handsets including the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

When Android first emerged as a leading smartphone operating system many commentators stated that it would eventually over shadow the Symbian platform that was used by many devices at the time. This shift in power is almost complete with Symbian practically slipping of the radar leaving the three big guns to fight among themselves for the most impressive market share. The Market Intelligence And Consulting Institute (MIC) in Taiwan have reported that they expect the total market share for Android to grow to over 50% in 2012. In 2011 over 206 million Android devices were shipped which accounted for 46% of the market and this number is expected grow thanks to numerous new handsets such as the Samsung Galaxy Nexus being released together with software improvements like the new ICS version of the platform.

It is not only the Android platform that is expected to enjoy a prosperous 2012. Both Windows and iOS are expecting increases in their numbers during this period. It is expected that the Apple share of the market will increase to 19 per cent while Microsoft will see their relatively new platform increase to around 13 per cent. This boom in numbers for the major platforms is thanks to the global popularity of smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the iPhone 4S. Not long ago smartphones were only used by professional users with the general public favouring the more compact feature phones. As the prices of smartphones started to decrease we saw the functionality of these devices improve and a combination of these two factors has led to a broad spectrum of phone users opting for such a device. This trend is confirmed by MIC who state that they expect the total number of global smartphone sales to top 614 million in 2012 which is a massive 36 per cent increase on 2011.

The current trend in smartphones sales is great news for the three major platforms and all should enjoy a prosperous 2012. The Google Android system remains the one to beat however and the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the perfect start o such a big year for the company.

Web Browsing Stands Out On The Samsung Galaxy Nexus

In 2011 Samsung launched the superb Galaxy S2, a model that proved the perfect mobile package thanks to some great specification and stunning looks. It was always going to be a difficult task producing a model to replace the S2 at the top of the range but the company has succeeded with the excellent new Samsung Galaxy Nexus. We take a look at the connectivity and internet features present on this exciting new model.

As you would expect from an Android heavyweight like the Galaxy Nexus the phone packs a wealth of connectivity options to help ensure the user can always obtain a great internet connection. The device is a quad band handset with GSM/GPRS/EGDE capabilities in addition to 3G connectivity. 3G networks give users access to the fastest possible data transfer speeds with the exception of WiFi so downloading and uploading of material is performed at an impressive pace. The Nexus boasts a download speed of 21Mbps on the 3G network and an upload speed of approximately 5.76Mbps. The handset automatically connects to your preferred WiFi networks when they are available and the model supports all three recognised Wireless LAN speeds. Local connectivity options are equally as impressive on this model thanks to the presence of Bluetooth 3.0 alongside some newer technologies. One of these newcomers is the excellent NFC service which enables your phone to act like a virtual wallet. This system uses short range wireless technology to communicate with special pay points located in certain retailers. If you like to stream photographs and music from your Windows PC then the Nexus is the perfect device for you as it offers DNLA services which lets you view photos and listen to your favourite tracks on your phone even if they are stored on your computer.

The excellent internet connectivity options on offer with this phone need a great web browser so they can work to their full potential and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus certainly does not disappoint. Android web browsers have always been superb and the new version offered on this handset is the best yet. The interface is very minimal which leaves the majority of the screen free to display the web page that you wish to view. In the settings menu there are some interesting options that let you customise how the browser looks and behaves. You have full control over the zoom magnification when you double tap on the screen and you can also adjust the text size that is displayed on screen. There are also some ideas that have been duplicated from the Google Chrome web browser and incorporated on the phone. The Incognito mode enables you to browse in private without any data about your session being stored on the phone and performing a search is faster than ever thanks to the superb algorithms used by Google. When you start to type a name in the search bar if the phone is confident which result you will pick it will automatically start to load the page in the background. This means that when you actually click on the result the site will load almost immediately.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the flagship Android handset and as you would expect it comes loaded with excellent connectivity options and a great web browser. For online use there are few models available that can match the quality offered by this great new handset.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus-A Look At New Versions Coming Soon

Samsung introduced a number of different versions of their popular phones over the festive period in a bid to shift more devices over the traditionally busy season. One model that did not see any variants launched however was their premium model the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. We will not have to wait much longer however to see some new Nexus devices released and two exciting new variants are set to be with us by the end of February.

The public seems to love white mobile phones and for this reason we saw models such as the Galaxy S2, Galaxy Y and the Galaxy Mini launched in this finish. The Galaxy Nexus is the next handset to receive the white treatment and this model should prove to be the most attractive of all. The Galaxy Nexus uses a much flatter back panel than the more curvy Galaxy S2 which gives the model a much more premium and robust look. The development of this panel in a white finish means we may be treated to a model that is quite possibly the nicest looking device available. At present the White iPhone 4S is the undoubted king of the white smatphones but expect the new Nexus to challenge the Apple phone for this title. White phones appeal to consumers who want to stand out from the crowd given that the majority of phones that are released boast either a black or dark metallic finish. The launch of a White Nexus should also see Samsung enjoy increased sales of this impressive new phone. When the White iPhone 4 was eventually launched experts predicted that the new model would add 1.5 million extra sales per quarter which totals a massive 6 million units per year.

At present the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is available with a 16GB of internal storage capacity. This figure has become a fairly standard level for premium smartphones with devices like the iPhone 4S and the Samsung Galaxy S2 offering similar levels. For the average phone user this should prove more than enough to hold a mix of approximately one thousand songs, several hundred photographs and as many applications as you require. Some users do require more ample storage space and for this reason Samsung are releasing a 32GB version of the Nexus. This new phone is perfect for users looking to capture plenty of 1080P HD video footage or for users with a very large music collection who want the entire library stored on their handset.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is already the leading Android smartphone and these two new variants should see the phone achieve further success as we move into 2012.

A Look At Processor Used On The Samsung Galaxy Nexus And The Nexus S

The Samsung Galaxy range of mobile handsets offers a number of high quality devices at various price points to suit all types of consumer. The first model in the range that was ever released was the Samsung Galaxy S, a phone which at its time of release was ahead of the competition in terms of specification. The latest model in the Galaxy family is the superb Nexus device so we thought it might be interesting to see how the range has evolved and look at how the two models differ.

Although it is now two years old the Samsung Galaxy S offers some specification which still compares well against many modern handsets. The phone uses a 4 inch Super AMOLED display which is capable of displaying a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. At the time of release this screen was far superior to many of the phones rivals and still produces vivid images with great viewing angles that can be easily viewed in sunlight, something that can not be said of many S-LCD screens. This super AMOLED technology was so impressive that Samsung opted to continue to use the screens in future premium phones and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the very latest model to offer this type of display. Being two years younger than the original handset the Nexus does sport some improvements in this area with the main one being a boost in resolution. The screen on this new model can display 720 x 1280 pixels which makes it one of the highest resolutions currently available. The size of the screen has also been increased to 4.65 inches. When we look at what both models can offer in terms of pixel density the Galaxy Nexus is capable of showing 316 pixels per inch compared with the 233PPI available on the original Galaxy S.

Since the Galaxy S was launched we have seen a number of improvements in mobile technology especially when you look at the processing power of modern phones. In the last 12 months we have seen dual core technology introduced on many devices and as you would expect the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus includes this type of chip. The 1.2Ghz processor is incredibly fast and is partnered by a powerful PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit that ensures all visuals on the handset look as stunning as possible. The Galaxy S makes use of a single core 1Ghz Hummingbird processor which was the fastest available at its time of release and still performs at a great speeds today. The model also uses the same GPU as the Nexus which demonstrates just how advanced this model was when it was launched. The 512MB of RAM memory offered on the original phone has been doubled to 1GB on the new Nexus which means that the phone is well equipped to handle any future developments in technology.

Two years after its launch the Samsung Galaxy S is still a phone that offers fast performance and beautiful visuals from the high quality screen that it uses. The new Samsung Galaxy Nexus offers improvements in nearly every area and is currently one of the leading devices on the market.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the Samsung Galaxy S2 are available now.

A Closer Look At Camera Features On The Samsung Galaxy Nexus And The Lumia 800

The beginning of 2012 has seen the release of two new premium handsets for the Android and Windows operating systems. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the newest Android offering and looks set to follow on from the successful Galaxy S2. The new Lumia range has been launched by Nokia with the top model being the impressive Lumia 800. Previously we took a look at design and screen performance on both models so now we se how the models compare for processing power and media features.

Both of these two models offer awesome processing power which is what we expect from flagship models from two of the leading brands available. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus makes use of a 1.2Ghz dual core processor to ensure that operation on the handset is very fast. This impressive ARM Cortex A9 chip runs alongside a Texas Instruments OMAP 4460 chipset which also incorporates a very powerful PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit. As this model is the flagship model for the Google ICS operating system Samsung have worked very closely with Google to have the device fine tuned and optimised to make the most of the new platform. The result of this is a phone that his hard to beat for performance. The Nokia Lumia 800 uses a single core processor but one that is very fast at 1.4Ghz. The Qualcomm Scorpion chip has been optimised just like the Nexus processor and performs at an incredible pace. This processor is part of the MSM8255 Snapdragon chipset which also boasts a high quality graphics processing unit in the shape of the Adreno 205 chip. Although both of these models perform admirably the Galaxy Nexus proves the more impressive especially when handling demanding games titles.

On paper there seems to be quite a stark contrast between the camera facilities offered on both models but it only goes to prove just how misleading technical specification can be. At a glance the Nokia should come out on top in this department thanks to an 8 mega pixel resolution and the use of high quality Carl Zeiss optics. In practice the photographs are good but not of the high standard that we expected. The model does impress however with the features that accompany the camera. Auto focus, touch focus and a digital zoom are all present to help you achieve the best possible final results. When looking at the camera specification for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus it all seems very basic until you actually use the facility and see the super final results. The 5 mega pixel resolution images look superb thanks to some great quality optics and a wealth of features including face detection, white balance control and touch focus. Both models do offer high definition video capture at 1080P resolution but in fairness neither phone lives up to the high standards that are set in this area by models like the White iPhone 4S.

In summary it is fair to say that both the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the Lumia 800 offer unrivalled performance but both disappoint slightly when it comes to the multi media features that they offer.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the White iPhone 4S are available now.

A Review Of Design And Screens On The Samsung Galaxy Nexus And The Lumia 800

Samsung launched the new Galaxy Nexus as a successor to the incredibly popular Galaxy S2 and the device certainly seems to boast the features and specification to make it another global hit for the manufacturers. Samsung face fresh competition however from mobile phone veterans Nokia and their brand new Lumia 800 Windows phone.. We see how the flagship Android device shapes up against the Windows 7 heavyweight in terms of design and screen technology.

Technically there is no doubt that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is a superior model but in the design department there really is little to choose between these two phones. The Nexus sports a curvy design that makes a pleasant change from the more angular handsets that are currently available. The model measures 135.5 x 67.9 x 8.9mm which means that the phone is one of the slimmest models currently available. At just 135 grammes in weight the phone is also incredibly light for its size. The Lumia 800 has a totally different design from the Galaxy Nexus and focuses more heavily on straight lines and angles rather than curves. There is no doubt that the model is attractive but we feel that the curves of the Nexus are slightly more pleasing on the eye. In terms of dimensions the Nokia measures 116.5 x 61.2 x 12.1 mm which means that the width and height measurements are smaller than its rival but this is mainly due to the smaller screen that the model offers. Slightly more disappointing is the depth measurement of 12.1mm which means that the phone feels much chunkier than the Samsung and other rivals such as the iPhone 4S.

There is no doubt which one of these two models offers the superior screen quality. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus boasts one of the best screens we have ever encountered. The display uses Samsungs own Super AMOLED technology to produce vibrant colours and naturally deep dark tones. Resolution wise the model displays 720 x 1280 pixels which is much higher than many other smartphones currently available. This boost in resolution is needed as the model uses a very large large 4.65 inch screen and the result is a very impressive pixels per inch rating of 316 which is very close to the superb quality offered by the iphone 4S. The Lumia 800 uses a smaller 3.7 inch display which once again makes use of Super AMOLED technology. The 480 x 800 resolution produces a pixel density of 252PPI which is relatively good but not in the same league as the Nexus. The screen is constructed from reinforced Gorilla Glass which makes it very durable and resistant to scratches. The Nexus screen is treated with a Oleo phobic coating to help prevent it from picking up the inevitable oily fingerprints.

2012 is going to be a very important year for the Android and Windows 7 mobile platforms and these two devices will be key to each systems success. Both of these models offer attractive looks but when it comes to screen quality the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is a clear winner.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus-How The New Google Wallet Feature Works

The new Samsung Galaxy nexus offers the very latest in mobile phone technology with some excellent new features. It is well known that this is the first handset to be shipped with the latest version of the Android operating system named Ice Cream Sandwich but what is not as well known however is the fact that the phone incorporates the new Google Wallet feature.

Google Wallet is a method of paying for items in store or online with your mobile phone. UK users of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the first to try out this technology as Google are preparing a trial run at several London based outlets during the 2012 Olympics. This is the perfect time to officially launch the platform as there will be thousands of people from all over the world attending various Olympic events in London and also the publicity for the games provides lots of advertising potential for Google. Google Wallet is a virtual wallet that is incorporated inside your Nexus handset. This system stores details of your various debit cards on the phone to enable you to make quick and easy payments at selected retailers. These shops will display a small notice in the window to show you that they can accept Google Wallet payments. When you have picked the goods that you want to purchase simply hold your phone against the designated payment point machine and the transaction is completed. Many major retailers are also allowing you to store details from reward and loyalty cards on the device which means you will never miss out on any bonuses.

The Google Wallet service on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus uses NFC technology. NFC stands for Near Field Communications and it is a set of standards that enable communication between devices by touching them together or holding them a short distance apart. Because NFC works effectively at distances up to 8cm it means that the technology is very secure as you do not have to worry about somebody standing close to you and accessing your details. If security is a concern then Google have added some additional measures to help you safeguard your details. When you first register for the service you are required to set up a PIN number that you will need to enter on your device whenever you make a purchase. In the event that you lose or misplace your handset then you can still contact your bank in order to cancel your cards and therefore prevent any purchases being made on your mobile device.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is one of the most advanced devices currently available and the incorporation of Google Wallet and NFC technology underline that fact. The service looks set to be a huge success when it is officially launched and could quickly become a common method of completing transactions.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the Samsung Galaxy S2 are available now.

Great Display make The Samsung Galaxy Nexus And The iPhone 4S Perfect For Web browsing

One of the most exciting mobile phones releases of 2011 is set to face some fresh competition in the shape of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The iPhone 4S has delighted consumers since it was released in October but the new Samsung handset is poised to become the most desirable phone currently available. We look at the web browser facilities on both of these models.

The iPhone 4S uses the familiar Safari browser that we have seen included on previous versions of the phone. Things are however a little different on this new model as the new iOS5 operating system has made some significant improvements to the browser. Tabbed browsing is quite a common feature so it is no great surprise to find it included on the 4S. The phone allows you to run up to 8 different web pages at the same time enabling you to flick backwards and forwards between different websites. If you find a site that is of particular interest you now have the option to not only bookmark the page but also add it to your Reading List so you can access it easily at a later time. Many modern websites are rich with advertisements and multi media content and the new Reader mode is perfect for such sites. When you click the icon at the top of the screen the phone strips away all of the unnecessary content on the page leaving you with a simple text document which is much easier to read than the original. The one disadvantage of the Safari browser on the 4S is that is does not support Adobe Flash files meaning that some video content cannot be viewed when browsing the web.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus makes use of the basic Android web browser and this looks superb on the phones large 4.65 inch display. In addition to the obvious benefits gained from the large screen size the browser is also very fast thanks to the dual core processor that the model uses. If you find yourself wanting to zoom into a particular segment of a web page then the Nexus enables you to use a pinch to zoom method or simply double tap the area that you wish to be enlarged. This zoom feature works very well although the handset does not let you zoom in as far as the iPhone 4S does. When viewing multiple sites on this model the pages are shown in a vertical list on the display. This does not feel as natural as the Apple phone which lets you perform a horizontal swiping motion to read other pages that you have open. This system is more similar to what we are used to on desktop systems such as Internet Explorer and Google Chrome and therefore instantly feels more familiar than the vertical arrangement. Adobe Flash is not supported on this version of the Android browser however a software update will soon be made available that will change this.

There is very little to choose in quality between the web browsers used on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the iPhone 4S. Both models offer an excellent online experience and are perfect devices for surfing the web whilst on the move.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the iPhone 4S are available now.

The Excellent Samsung Galaxy Nexus-A Cut Above The Galaxy S

In 2010 we saw the release of the Samsung Galaxy S, a mobile device that quickly established itself as a favourite among smartphone users everywhere. In March 2011 we saw the launch of the Galaxy S2, an updated version of the original phone that built upon the success established by its predecessor and went on to become one of the biggest selling smartphones ever released. Nine months later Samsung are ready to launch their latest flagship model, the new Galaxy Nexus. We look at the specification of this new model and see how it differs from the original Galaxy S device.

AT the time of its release the Galaxy S was the fastest mobile phone available thanks to a powerful chipset that included a 1Ghz Cortex A8 processor. This was one of the first models to ever include a processor chip over 1Ghz in size and it set a benchmark that many other manufacturers soon replicated. The new Samsung Galaxy Nexus not only offers a faster chip but also one that boasts dual cores. The 1.2Ghz Cortex A9 ensures that the new model remains one of the fastest phones available and the addition of dual core technology means that the model is also more impressive in terms of multitasking. The advantage of the processor offering two cores is that one can be dedicated to performing the task you are currently undertaking whilst the second one can keep other applications running in the background. This means that even with multiple apps running the phone still offers the fastest possible operation speeds. Internal storage capacity has also been doubled to 16GB with this new model which means the handsets is much more capable of storing multiple media files such as photographs and audio tracks. RAM memory on the new device is also doubled from 512MB to 1GB.

The original Galaxy S phone was ahead of its time with regards to camera facilities and offered a high quality 5 mega pixel camera together with a video capture feature that could record high definition footage at a resolution of 720P. The new Samsung Galaxy Nexus offers a 3 million pixel boost in resolution and also a higher standard of video capture at 1080P resolution. Additional features offered on both of the still cameras are very similar with both models offering geo tagging, touch focus and face detection to help you achieve the best possible results. The Galaxy S incorporated a screen that really was ahead of its time and one that still compares well against many newer models. The Super AMOLED display produced a high quality 480 x 800 pixel image and could display over 16 million colours. Samsung have used the same Super AMOLED technology but increased the size to 4.65 inches rather than 4 inches on the new Nexus. This really is one of the very best screens currently available and only the iPhone 4S offers a display that can rival it for image quality.

At the time of its release the Galaxy S was a model that was in a different class to its counterparts and the same can be said of the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus. A great combination of a powerful chipset, a great screen and gorgeous looks ensure that this model should prove equally as successful as both the original model and the Galaxy S2.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the Samsung Galaxy S2 are available now.
