Samsung Galaxy Beam – Let’s Talk

The Samsung Galaxy Beam is Samsung’s second attempt in giving us a projector phone. The first Samsung projector handset graced the mobile phone market two years ago, but unfortunately it was made available to the Asian market only. This year, Samsung wanted to share this handset to the rest of the world. In this article we will talk about the phone and what it is all about. Read on!

If you are familiar with the old Galaxy Beam then you will notice that this new handset came in with an improved ergonomics. Its actual measurements are 124 x 64.2 x 12.5mm and it weighs at 145.3 grams. Its predecessor is a bit heavier at 156 grams. It is also slimmer than its predecessor by 2.3mm. This new handset comes in with a bigger screen at 4.0″ and an LCD display with WVGA 480 x 800p for its resolution with a pixel density of 223ppi. Yes, this is a bit of a downgrade from the former Super AMOLED screen of the first projector handset.

This handset ships with 2 cameras, a 5MP rear-facing camera (2592 x 1944p with auto-focus and LED flash) and a 1.3MP front-facing camera. Video recording is at 720p at 30 frames per second.

Let us now talk about the phone’s general design to give you an idea as to how this phone looks like. For one, the phone’s secondary camera is located above the phone’s display. You will also find its proximity and ambient light sensors above the screen. If you look below the phone’s display, you will find the Home button sandwiched between the Menu and Back buttons (capacitive controls).

Now, the projector lens is placed on top of the handset. It is protected by a piece of a glass and it is slightly protruded at the back of the phone. So what else can this phone do for you? Well, the phone’s projector can be used as a flashlight. That is a neat trick indeed.

Moving on, the phone’s right side houses a dedicated projector key. There, you will find the power/lock button and swappable microSD card slot that is hidden behind a small lid.

On the phone’s left side you will find its volume rocker and external SIM slow too. This is indeed a new concept that this phone is giving you. You no longer have to open the back cover just to access your SIM card. If you look at the bottom part of the handset you will see its microUSB port for data and charging. You will also find the phone’s mouthpiece there.

If you look at the back of the phone, you will love its anti-slip rubbery finish. There is also a slight bulge at the top of the phone to accommodate the projector. Lastly, the phone’s 5MP shutter is centrally placed below that bulge. You will also find its LED flash beside the phone’s shutter.

These are the things that you can expect on Samsung’s projector phone. This is the new Samsung Galaxy Beam at a glance.

The phone’s 285ppi pixel density makes it quite closer to Apple’s Retina Display with 326ppi pixel density. Things You Need To Know About The Samsung Galaxy Pocket

Samsung is known as South Korea’s Tech Giant and is solely responsible for best-selling smartphones in the likes of Samsung Galaxy S2 and Samsung Galaxy Note. Their handsets’ sleek user interface combined with Google’s Android operating system made them famous and have earned them big sales as well. But Samsung is not always about top of the line smartphones, and as a matter of fact they do pretty good when it comes to entry-level and mid-range handsets. Now here comes one of the latest handset from Samsung, this is the Samsung Galaxy Pocket.

Samsung heard the cry of the masses and who are they to turn them down? Because of this they have decided to give something that people can really afford without having to sacrifice the internals or the features of their handset. This is where the Galaxy Pocket comes into the big picture.

The Samsung Galaxy Pocket was unveiled about a month ago. Unlike its famous brother the Samsung Galaxy Note, there is nothing gigantic about this handset. This handset is small and sweet! This is a smartphone designed for people who wants affordability and no-nonsense device.

The handset comes in with a 2.8″ QVGA LCD display. Its actual dimensions are 103.7 x 57.5 x 12mm and it weighs in at 97 grams only. Unlike its famous siblings (Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note), this handset is quite easy to pocket (and I mean that both literally and figuratively). This handset runs on Android Gingerbread and it is quite capable of giving you more than enough for a reasonable price too.

The phone ships with 832 MHz processor with 3GB worth of internal memory. But if that is not enough for you then you can always add more memory via the phone’s microSD card slot and you can add as much as 32GB. Now that is a lot of space for such a tiny phone.

This handset ships with a 2MP (rear-facing) camera at 1600 x 1200p. Wi-Fi is also a feature that you will enjoy on this handset. Yes, not all handsets are capable of giving you that but this baby is packed with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Wi-Fi hotspot. Surf and browse the internet for free or via the phone’s WAP.

So what else can you get on this handset? Well for one, there is the threaded SMS view. You will also get Stereo FM radio with RDS. And best of all, you will get Social Network Integration on this phone. See? All of these perks bundled up in such a tiny phone and are made available for you.

These are just some of the things that you need to know about the Samsung Galaxy Pocket.

Latest News About Samsung Galaxy S3

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is officially confirmed, but the big question is “when will we ever see it?” The tech Giant Samsung has yet to give its famous Galaxy S2 a final release date. There is not even a single clue as to how the handset looks like. However, according to the Editor-in-Chief of Mobile Review Eldar Murtazin the Galaxy S3′s production has already begun and that it will feature the same ceramic technology that HTC has been using on their recent handsets.

Even if Samsung have chosen to remain quiet about the whole sweet details of its next flagship, the device made a couple of premature appearances with speculations regarding the incoming Samsung Galaxy S3.

A lot of people were hoping that they will hear Samsung (or at least see Samsung’s Galaxy S3 perspective) during the recent Mobile World Congress 2012 held in Barcelona Spain. But the good news is, Samsung confirmed that the said unit is coming soon and that they will unveil the Galaxy S3 at a separate event (Special Samsung event) in the second quarter of this year. This date is also closer to the exact commercial availability of the third generation Galaxy S handset.

There is a rumor that came up courtesy of the Electronic Times (South Korea). It basically suggests that the handset will feature a 7mm depth (thickness). If this is true, then the handset is way thinner than its predecessor the Galaxy S2 (8.5mm).

Although nothing is confirmed yet, there are also tons of leaked reports about this unit. Some of them says that it will include a 4.65″ HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 720p. Again this will top the S2′s 4.8″ screen and 480 x 800p resolution. The other expected specs include a whopping 2GB worth of RAM and a 32GB worth of internal storage. So far, the best rumor that came out is the phone’s 12MP rear shutter with 1080p Full HD video recording capabilities. And again, if this is true then it will truly beat its predecessor with its 8MP shutter.

The latest report has suggested that this will pack a 1.5GHz quad-core Exynos processor and the latest Android Iteration the Ice Cream Sandwich. Now, let us assume that this is true. If that is the case then the Samsung Galaxy S3 is the most powerful Galaxy S handset that will ever grace the market. It can easily unseat newly announced Quad-Core handsets in the likes of the LG Optimus 4X HD and Huawei’s Ascend D Quad XL.

There are so many reports about the actual release date and specs of the Samsung Galaxy S3 but until we officially hear it from Samsung, then all we can do for now is to simply wait and see.

Samsung Galaxy Beam – Unique Handset Up Close

The Samsung Galaxy Beam is not an ordinary handset, it packs a powerful projector. This is Samsung’s second attempt in giving us a projector phone. The first one was released back in 2009 and is named the Galaxy Beam as well. However, this first projector phone never came out except in Singapore. This is Samsung’s way of entertaining Chilean miners. This handset was a huge success back in the day it was released, although to a chosen few only.

Come Mobile World Congress 2012, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Beam with projector module and it comes packed with 15 lumen and nHD with 640 x 360 screen resolution. This handset is expected to create a somewhat new watchable mobile experience even in low ambient lighting setting. You can also view a lot of things and in giant view as well. It can go big as much as 50 inches. Can you imagine viewing your favorite videos or movies in the absence of a big screen TV or your precious laptop? This is impossible before, but now the technology is here and Samsung finally did it for everyone to enjoy it.

Let us now talk about the Galaxy Beam’s form factor. The handset comes in with bright orange sides. This is sure to attract a lot of attention mostly if you are use to loud and striking colors. It is quite on a chubby side but comes in with a sturdy build. The phone is 12.5mm thick and weighs exactly at 145 grams. But to the phone’s defense, it is quite comfortable to hold with its ergonomic and tapered back. Samsung used patterned and non-slippery back cover build out of soft-touch plastic. You will also notice this slight bulge above the phone’s circular 5MP lens with LED Flash. This is also where you will find the phone’s 15 lumen projector.

So how does it work? The phone’s projector shows what is happening on your 4″ LCD display screen. It comes with 480 x 800p for its resolution. The actual display sports vivid and bright colors. Not to mention that you will also get excellent viewing angles on this handset. It comes with 223ppi for its pixel density. You do not have to worry about pixilation when it comes to this handset.

On the phone’s right side, you will find the projector on/off switch. This is located just above the phone’s power/lock key. There is also a volume rocker on the phone’s left side and the microSD and SIM card slots are located at the phone’s right side. With this, you do not have to pry open the phone’s back cover just to access them.

As you can see, Samsung made an excellent choice in giving us all the chance to own a projector phone. All we have to do now is to wait for it to hit the stores.

Samsung Galaxy S3 – Coming Soon?

It not that easy to just sit back and contain yourself when you’re eager and dying to own Samsung’s next big thing the Samsung Galaxy S3. Yes, this is yet another sequel to the famous Samsung Galaxy S and Samsung Galaxy S2. It is also hard to stop hoping that Samsung (South Korean Manufacturer) will cave in and release this much awaited handset to us.

There are so many unanswered questions like what are the phone’s specifications? Or what new features can we expect on this handset? We all have to be contented with what little information or speculations that Samsung will leak to the public. That is if they even dare to do so.

As you can see, these are just some of the most pressing questions that a lot of Samsung aficionados are asking the mobile giant Samsung. Sad to say, Samsung is still playing hard and keeping their cards close to their chests. But then again, we can also expect that this famous Galaxy S3 will come out soon enough.

Talking about the phone’s release date, there was a rumor that says this handset will be out last March 30. But it came and it passed and there is still no Galaxy S3 launched or even unveiled. The good news is, even if the phone is a no-show, some are still hoping that it will be out this April. This date is suggested by an interview with Samsung’s President Kim Young-Ha (Samsung China President). There is also a big rumor that consensus appears to favor May 22, 2012 as the phone’s actual unveiling and release date. This is via Samsung’s special event which is said to take place in London, UK. However, Samsung said that they will advise us via their Twitter account once a release date is confirmed. Now, that is something that we can look forward to. Keep our eyes glued to their Twitter account.

Let us now move to the phone’s potential specifications (although it is not that confirmed yet), we can expect that this will ship with the latest Android Iteration the Ice Cream Sandwich. There is a possible inclusion of a powerful Quad-Core processor, perhaps a 1.5 or 1.8GHZ Samsung Exynos. There are also some that says this handset will ship with an upgraded 12MP shutter. If this is true, then that’s one mighty shutter for the 3rd generation Galaxy S. We are hoping that this handset ships with 4G LTE and even NFC. The phone may also feature a 4.8″ Super AMOLED full HD and with 3D capabilities display screen.

Whether this handset is landing sometime soon or not, we all just have to be patient for it is confirmed. The Samsung Galaxy S3 exists and there’s nothing stopping Samsung to push through with the much awaited release of the Galaxy S3.

Samsung Galaxy S3 – Confirmed Officially By Samsung

Samsung has finally confirmed the existence of the sequel to their famous handset the Samsung Galaxy S2. However, there is still no official word as to when the Samsung Galaxy S3 will grace the smartphone market. The good news is that the production of the Galaxy S3 has already begun. There is a big buzz about Samsung using the very same ceramic technology that HTC has been using on their recent handsets.

A lot of people were expecting to get a glimpse of this handset in the recent Mobile World Congress (MWC 2012). Unfortunately, it was a no-show on the said Barcelona event but at least we all know that this is coming very soon. An official Samsung spokesperson said that the “Samsung Galaxy S3 will be unveiled at a different Samsung-hosted event in the first half of this year”. We all want this to be sooner than soon.

There are many rumors about the actual specs of this handset. Samsung is not that eager to give in to the clamor of the market. All we can do is to hope that the fascinating rumors about this handset are all true. One rumor said that this phone is only 7mm thick. Imagine seeing a handset that powerful in a super-slim chassis? Now, that is more than amazing.

There are also some leaked reports and rumored hands-ons reviews that say the Galaxy S3 will come in with 4.65″ HD Super AMOLED display (1280 x 720p resolution). Just so you know, HD Super AMOLED display is now a company trademark. With the success of their Samsung Galaxy S2, who can blame them? There are also some that says that this will come in with a 4.8″ display. Well, let’s just wait and see.

Some of the rumors suggest that the handset will ship with 2GB worth of RAM and as much as 32GB worth of internal storage. A whopping 12MP shutter with 1080p Full HD video recording capabilities is also mentioned about this handset. There is also the mouth-watering 2GHz dual-core processor. Although we are rooting for the other rumor that says 1.5GHz Quad-core processor on this handset, but nothing is final yet.

Also, this handset is rumored to come with nano tech coating in the form of Liquipel. With this, the handset can withstand water/liquid drop or spill. This handset is said to come in with the latest Android iteration the Ice Cream Sandwich.

There are so many rumors going on about this handset and it is so hard to ignore them. The only good thing is that we all know that the Samsung Galaxy S3 does exist, and this is what matters the most.

Samsung Galaxy Beam – A Projector Smartphone

With all of the new and amazing technology that we now have, it is no wonder why Samsung would create a smartphone with integrated projector. I am talking about the new Samsung Galaxy Beam. This is a projector smartphone by Samsung. About two years ago, Samsung released their very first projector smartphone called the Galaxy Beam. This is a bit chunky compared to the new handset. This is also the upgraded version of the said handset. It is sleeker and sexy too. Not to mention that it now runs on Android OS.

If you look at the phone’s screen, you will find that it is capable of giving you vivid and bright colors. The phone’s interface is nothing but slick under one’s finger. It runs on a 1GHz Dual-Core processor and uses a 2000mAh battery. This will ensure you of a longer battery life and a powerful processor as well.

Let’s talk about the famous Beam. Well, for one it sits well in one’s hand. The phone’s projector module will never get in the way of your normal and constant phone use. This is because the Beam is packed neatly on the top of the handset. It is also molded properly into the phone’s chassis. This way, even if you come across the Beam while you are taking pictures it will never stop you from doing it.

The phone comes in with a slick yellow bezel, giving you that clean and classy finish. The only thing that is different on this handset is the position of its headphone port. Why? Because it was moved on top of the phone so it can give way to the phone’s projector.

In case you are wondering, how does the handset work as a projector? Read on. Well, the phone is basically designed for two things; this is the document and media sharing. Document sharing is achieved with the help of pre-installed Microsoft Office apps and support. Media sharing on the other hand can be managed easily as the projector mimics whatever is on your screen. It is that simple and easy to use.

The Samsung Galaxy Beam is indeed a fun phone. It is a technology that is finally available to the masses. Hopefully in the future, we can have more of this and an improved one as well.

If you want a handset with integrated projector then the Samsung Galaxy Beam is a must have for you.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 Sports Specification That Eclipses Earlier Galaxy Devices

Two years ago we saw the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S. This stylish phone went on to become a global success with over 20 million of the devices being shipped. Technology moves at a very fast pace however and the Galaxy S was replaced with the S2 which achieved similar levels of success. We are now expecting the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S3 in the first half of 2012 so we take a look at how things have progressed since the launch of the original phone.

The original Galaxy model boasted a high quality 4.3 inch Super AMOLED screen which could display a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. At the time of the phones released this quality eclipsed what rival handsets could offer but the bar has been raised by devices like the iPhone 4S that offer an even higher resolution. In order to stay ahead of the competition we can expect the new Samsung Galaxy S3 to offer the highest resolution possible. Rumours are circulating about the new model being the first mobile device to feature a Full HD 1920 x 1080 screen but we think that it is likely that the model will offer somewhere around the 720 x 1280 level. Modern consumers also use their handsets for viewing more multi media material than ever before. With this in mind Samsung are set to increase the size of the screen. The manufacturers already have a device that caters for people requiring a screen larger than 5 inches so we can expect this new model to offer a display that measures between 4.6 and 4.8 inches. What ever size screen is used we should expect a pixel density that is higher than can be found on the market leading iPhone 4S.

One area where technology has developed very quickly is in the processing department. The Galaxy S was released with a Hummingbird chipset which delivered fast operating speeds to the user. This chipset comprised of a powerful 1Ghz Cortex A8 single core processor and a PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit. A few months after the model was released dual core mobile chips were developed and in 2011 we saw the release of the Galaxy S2 complete with one of these processors. We are now ready to welcome the very first quad core phones and we expect the Samsung Galaxy S3 to be one of the first. The model will run on Samsung’s own Exynos chipset and incorporate a quad core processor that is clocked at a speed of around 1.5Ghz. The advantage of the processor containing multiple cores is that the model can handle several different tasks at the same time without there being a negative effect on operation speeds. This means users of the S3 can be happily browsing the web with music playing in the background and not notice any reduction in performance levels.

Mobile technology changes at a very fast rate and the new Samsung Galaxy S3 illustrates this point perfectly. The original Galaxy S offered the highest possible specification at the time of its release but just two years later the new model totally eclipses it in almost every department.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is coming soon and the Samsung Galaxy Note is available now.

New Details Emerge About The Samsung Galaxy S3

As the anticipated summer release of the Samsung Galaxy S3 draws closer we can expect increased speculation about the exact specification of this device. For several months some vague rumours have been circulating but recently a new leak is reporting the supposed exact specification of this exciting new model. We take a look at these latest rumours and see what we can expect from the latest Galaxy device.

One of the major phone manufacturers not present at the recent Mobile World Congress in Barcelona was Samsung. This is because a separate launch event has been planned for the Samsung Galaxy S3. This has not stopped these new rumours diverting a lot of attention away from new models being unveiled in Barcelona and onto Samsung’s forthcoming device. Perhaps the most impressive element of this specification list relates to the screen quality that this new model will boast. A 4.8 inch screen is set to be fitted on the phone which is capable of displaying Full HD resolution. This means that the display will be able to show 1920 x 1080 pixels at a screen ratio of 16:9. Not only does this mean that the model will offer the highest quality screen on the market but it will also be able to display movies and TV shows in their correct format so that they can entirely fill the screen.

It seems as though the display quality is not the only area that will impress on the new Samsung Galaxy S3. Samsung have been hard at work on developing their excellent Exynos chipset and this new model looks set to feature the most powerful processor that Samsung have ever produced for a mobile device. A 1.5Ghz quad core chip should ensure that the model performs at very fast speeds with noticeable improvements when performing multiple tasks. When the Galaxy S2 was launched it was one of the slimmest phones available and we can expect this new model to measure just 7mm in depth making it the thinnest device on the market. What caught our eye more than this however was the fact that Samsung look set to replace the plastic back panel that has been used on previous devices with a new ceramic panel. This should give the device a more premium feel despite the fact that the model will undoubtedly be heavier than its predecessors.

Only time will tell whether this leak proves correct but it certainly looks the most promising of all the rumours that we have encountered. If it does prove correct then there is no doubt that the Samsung Galaxy S3 could prove the most exciting mobile device ever released.

20 Million S2 Units Sold And The Samsung Galaxy S3 Hoping To Achieve Similar Levels

Samsung have established a reputation a one of the leading smartphone manufacturers thanks to the success of models such as the excellent Galaxy S and S2. Over the coming months the company are set to launch the new Samsung Galaxy S3 which they hope will capture the imagination of the consumer just like its predecessors have.

Samsung have recently released some updated sales figures that demonstrate just how popular the Galaxy S2 is with the public. Ten months after the model was officially released Samsung have shipped over 20 million units which makes the model the most popular device that Samsung have ever released. These figures represent both the UK and overseas markets and have ensured that the device beat the excellent figures that were set by the original Galaxy S device. What is particularly impressive about these figures is that Samsung reached the 10 million mark in September 2011. This means that over 2 million of these excellent phones have been shipped a month since then. The S2 is also due to receive a software update over the next two months which should generate some fresh interest in this model as it approaches its first birthday. The Ice Cream Sandwich version of the Android operating system was released recently and Samsung aim to provide S2 handsets with this platform during the first quarter of 2012. There is however a new model lurking on the horizon which may slow down sales of this impressive phone.

Rumours are circulating suggesting that the new Samsung Galaxy S3 will be released in the second quarter of 2012. This means that we are likely to see a decrease in the price of the original S2 but many consumers may opt to spend some extra money on the brand new features that the new device will offer. This new model will be shipped with the Ice Cream Sandwich operating system together with some other exciting new features. The handset is rumoured to be the first Samsung phone to incorporate a quad core processor which means that it should provide operation speeds that we have never experienced before from a smartphone. Screen size is also likely to be boosted on this new model to 4.65 inches which is slightly larger than the 4.3 inches that is offered on the Galaxy S2.

Samsung have every right to be very proud of the success that the Galaxy S2 has achieved over the last ten months. The company will be hoping that the new Samsung Galaxy S3 will prove equally as successful with consumers thanks to the impressive specification that it is set to boast.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is coming soon and the Samsung Galaxy S2 is available now.

The New Samsung Galaxy S3-Model Likely To Launch The Same Time As Awaited New Game

One of the most eagerly anticipated smartphone releases of 2012 is the Samsung Galaxy S3. This model is the successor to the best selling Samsung Galaxy S2 and is set to incorporate technology that will make it one of the leading phones available. Recent rumours suggest that Samsung are looking to launch this handset on the same day as the latest instalment of the popular Angry Birds mobile application.

We have already been told that the new Samsung Galaxy S3 will not be launched at the Mobile World Congress which is being held at the end of February in Barcelona. Samsung issued a statement that said they would be hosting a launch event for this model after the MWC has taken place. Web rumours suggest that the date is likely to be the 22nd March 2012 which is the same day as Rovio are launching the new Angry Birds Space games title. By launching the phone on the same day as the game the new model will gain extra publicity from the worlds media with many news stories likely to feature both releases. In terms of branding the the two are also perfect partners with the words Galaxy and Space being almost synonymous with one another.

The Angry Birds series of games has been the most popular ever released with over 7 million Android users taking the time to download the application. The principle behind the game is to use a catapult to fire your Birds into a series of targets. Once these targets have been destroyed you can move on to the next stage. Once a level has been completed you receive a rating which can be from one to three stars and the goal for many users is to complete all stages with the maximum number of stars. The new Samsung Galaxy S3 should prove the perfect device for displaying this new title in all its glory. The model is rumoured to include a new 4.65 inch Super AMOLED display that can display a resolution of 280 x 720 pixels. The model is also due to feature a quad core processor and 2GB of RAM memory which means that the game will load in an instant and also respond quickly during game play.

It seems very likely that the new Samsung Galaxy S3 will be launched on the same day as the new Angry Birds game. It makes perfect sense that the successor to the most popular Android phone is released on the same day as the latest instalment of its most popular game title.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is coming soon and the Samsung Galaxy S2 is available now.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 Set To Deliver Unrivalled Streaming Features

Recently we have seen a big increase in popularity of video streaming services on smartphones. The large screens sported by many modern phones makes them perfect for viewing video content and the superb connectivity options ensure that most users can normally achieve a good connection so they can enjoy uninterrupted viewing. Samsung have now joined forces with Blockbuster in the UK, Europe and US to deliver a service of their own for consumers using one of their devices such as the Galaxy Nexus or the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy S3.

The Blockbuster company offers one of the leading movie and game rental services in the world. The company started by renting out video cassettes to consumers and have recently expanded their services to include streaming facilities and Blu Ray rental. The new collaboration between Samsung and Blockbuster is set to launch later in the first half of 2012 and the service will not only be restricted to handsets like the Samsung Galaxy S3. Tablet devices and laptops manufactured by Samsung will have access to the facility as will Blu Ray players and Televisions. Users of devices such as these will have access to Blockbusters catalogue which consists of thousands of movie titles. The service is likely to require users to pay a monthly subscription and Samsung are looking to set up a new international billing system to ensure that payments are processed quickly and easily. TheNextWeb, the number one technology blog in the UK commented, “To facilitate the new service, Samsung is rumoured to be developing a new global billing platform that will allow users to sign-up and pay for new media content, helping the Korean manufacturer extend its range of value-added services to better serve its customers across devices.”

The Samsung Galaxy S3 will prove the ideal device for viewing streamed content thanks to a large 4.65 inch HD screen and a quad core processor. Users however will not automatically opt to use the new Samsung and Blockbuster service thanks to a number of similar platforms that all provide great quality content. We have recently seen the Netflix application launched in the UK and the developers are hoping that it becomes as successful as it has in the United States where it is the number one video streaming service. Love Film are more established in the UK and thousands of users already have subscriptions which means they can also enjoy the streaming facilities that are offered by this company. The variety of services on offer is great for consumers as it means that not only will there be a wider choice of platforms available but prices are also likely to be kept competitive.

The new movies platform from Blockbuster and Samsung will excite owners of Galaxy smartphones such as the Nexus and the S2 and also people who are looking at investing in new releases such as the Samsung Galaxy S3. The platform will join other services currently available to give consumers the opportunity to view the latest movies on their phone.

Applications That Shine On The Samsung Galaxy Note

The new Samsung Galaxy Note is a rather unique mobile phone as it boasts a screen much larger screen than many of its rivals. This 5.3 inch display is coupled with a powerful dual core processor which makes the model rather similar to many of the smaller tablet devices that are currently available. We have a look at some of the very best applications that take advantage of the excellent features that this model can offer.

GoLauncher is a superb application for the Samsung Galaxy Note that enables users to make changes to the TouchWiz user interface that is employed by the device. We actually like the way that Touchwiz presents the home screen but because the screen is so large on the Galaxy Note it does pose some problems. On the iPhone 4S the users thumb can easily reach all areas of the screen but this proves rather difficult on the Galaxy Note. The GoLauncher interface features a segment at the bottom of the screen that houses 5 individual icons. Normally these are reserved for frequently used features on the phone such as SMS messaging and call logs but GoLauncher enables users to add swipe gestures to any of these icons. When you perform this action a secondary list of shortcuts is revealed. What this means for the consumer is that they can perform more functions on the bottom section of the screen that can be easily reached with their thumb.

The Samsung Galaxy Note comes supplied with an interactive stylus that makes the device a perfect accessory for illustrators and artists. Sketchbook Mobile is an excellent application that makes full use of the this facility by giving users a simple piece of software that makes sketching easy. A huge number of brush effects are available to help your drawings look more professional. The application supports multiple layers and when you have finished the final project can be saved as a PSD file so it can be easily edited with Adobe Photoshop software. The large screen on the Galaxy Note is not only ideal for sketching and is also perfect for viewing video files. The models does have a fairly impressive video player installed but we think the excellent MX Video player application is worth a look. This software easily handled all file formats that we tried to use with it and making adjustments to the settings was very easy. Subtitles are supported by the software and the aspect ratio of the picture can be easily adjusted so that the footage fills the screen. We were really impressed with this application, a simple interface combined with multiple file formats make this one of the ultimate video players available for this device.

The Samsung Galaxy Note is an impressive mobile phone that boasts specification that eclipses many of its rivals. There are a few applications that further enhance the appeal of this model and we have looked at just three of the more impressive ones that are available.

Swiftkey X Speeds Up Message Input On The Samsung Galaxy S2

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is a very popular mobile phone that lets users keep in touch with their friends and family via a number of different methods. For people who do not like to conduct an actual phone call then the model is capable of sending e mails, SMS messages and IM messages. One thing all of these services have in common is that the user needs to compose the content on the virtual keypad that the phone boasts. We take a look at SwiftKey X, an excellent piece of software for the Galaxy S2 that helps users who are compiling messages.

SwiftKey X has achieved more than 5 million downloads which helps to illustrate just how useful this application can be. The software is designed to make typing easier on Android phones like the Samsung Galaxy S2 and on tablet devices like the Galaxy Tab. The application uses a very clever word prediction engine that helps the handset guess the next word that you are going to type. Obviously it takes time for a phone to learn your personal typing habits so users will find that the more they use this impressive software the more accurate its predictions will become. In addition to predicting the words that you are likely to use it also learns your method of typing to help it accurately correct any typing errors that may occur. SwiftKey X can actually perform scans on your Facebook, Twitter and GMail accounts so it can familiarise itself with your vocabulary and words that you like to use. This helps the software deliver accurate results with the end result being the much quicker composition of messages.

SwiftKey X is one of the best selling applications for the Samsung Galaxy S2 and for a limited time the developers are offering the application with a 25% reduction off the regular price from the Android Marketplace. The latest version of the software features some improvements over older versions. One of the main changes on this new version is improvements when compiling short and informal messages. Up to 35 different languages can also be supported by the software including Arabic and Hebrew. The Galaxy S2 uses a high quality capacitive touchscreen which measures 4.3inches. Thanks to the large size of this display the SwiftKey X keyboard can use large buttons which proves more effective than the smaller variety that can be found on some models that use smaller displays.

SwiftKey X is the most popular keyboard application for the Samsung Galaxy S2. The impressive software does a great job of learning what you like to say thanks to its use of other accounts on the phone and in turn offers accurate predictions which help you to quickly and easily compile messages.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is available now and the Samsung Galaxy S3 is coming soon.

Samsung Pust The Samsung Galaxy Note With Free App Promotion

The Galaxy range of mobile phones from Samsung has developed into the most successful smartphone range of devices. A number of models are available from the new Galaxy R device to the large screened Samsung Galaxy Note. These devices all run on the Android operating system which means they can access the Android Marketplace to browse and download a wide variety of applications. Samsung also have their own online store which offers a selection of apps and in an effort to attract more customers Samsung are launching a special offer for a limited time.

Samsung are offering a selection of paid applications from their online store free of charge until 21st Feburary 2012. There is a huge number of applications available from basic utilities to premium games titles. As part of this promotion customers who download the entire collection will be entered into a draw for the chance to win a voucher which can be redeemed against future purchases. When you first visit the store you will need to specify which handset you own as some applications are developed or customised for use on specific handsets. When we had a look what was available for our Samsung Galaxy note we found some super options including Doomsday Attack. This is a traditional vertical scrolling shooting game which can deliver hours of addictive fun. Other items that we found available for this model included the official Chelsea Football Club application and Best Of Britain, a useful piece of software that highlights some of the best places to visit in the United Kingdom.

The Galaxy Range of smartphones is continually growing and there are a huge number of devices available from budget models to premium devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Note. This model sports a massive 5.3 inch display which is the largest screen you will find on a mobile phone and perfect for multi media lovers. If you want the power of the Galaxy Note but in a more compact size then the Galaxy S2 is a popular choice with consumers everywhere. This excellent phone packs a powerful dual core processor and a tremendous 8 mega pixel camera to provide users with great quality photographs. This premium phone may cost a little more than many consumers want to spend so the Galaxy R is a scaled down version which features a slightly smaller 1Ghz processor and a 5 mega pixel camera. There are several other models in the Galaxy range but these three seem to cover all bases when it comes to size and specification.

The current promotion running for owners of devices like the Samsung Galaxy Note is a great way of introducing consumers to the manufacturers own app store rather than the more famous Android option that is also available. Some great titles can be downloaded as part of this offer which can make the user quite a saving when you look at the original cost of the software.

The Samsung Galaxy Note and the Samsung Galaxy R are available now.

The Superb Samsung Galaxy S2 And The Galaxy S Advance-A Comparison Of Cameras The Esuperb Samsung Galaxy S2 And The Galaxy S Advance-A Comparison Of Cameras

The Samsung Galaxy range of mobile smartphones seems to be growing all of the time and the latest addition to the family is the new Galaxy S Advance. Previously we took a look at screen technology and processing power on this device and looked at how it compared with the best selling Samsung Galaxy S2. This time we look at camera features on both of these models and also see how the models compare in terms of design.

The new Samsung Galaxy S Advance features an improved camera facility from the Galaxy S model that it is based on. Still photography quality is impressive and images can be captured at a resolution of 5 million pixels. As you would expect a wealth of additional features are available to help you capture the highest quality images possible. Auto focus will help ensure that there is minimal blur on any photos and the useful Smile Detection function will take the photograph the moment it detects people smiling. Thanks to the phone incorporating GPS all photographs can also have location details stored about where the snaps were taken. Despite the Galaxy S Advance offering a high quality camera feature the Samsung Galaxy S2 offers a little more in terms of quality in this area. An 8 mega pixel camera captures an incredible quality of image although many of the additional features are the same as can be found on the Advance model. Both handsets offer a secondary front facing camera which is ideal for video calls and both are also capable of capturing still images. The Galaxy S2 can record 2 mega pixel resolution from this camera while the Galaxy S Advance offers just 1.3 mega pixels.

One of the key areas on modern smartphones is design. A great looking device will always grab the customers attention while a more dated design will often be overlooked. The Galaxy range of devices are famous for their stylish looks and both of these handsets do not disappoint in this area. The Galaxy S Advance looks very similar similar to the original Galaxy S device. The handset measures 123.2 x 63 x 9.7mm which makes the phone one of the most compact currently available. At just 120 grammes in weight the model is also surprisingly lightweight considering it includes a 4 inch display. Although the Samsung Galaxy S2 includes a larger 4.3 inch screen the phone manages to weigh less than the Advance model at just 116 grammes. The model measures just 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.5mm and is constructed from some very durable plastic. This black plastic gives the phone a very modern look which combines well with the curved corners of the phone to leave us with a device that may not win any awards for innovation but still looks superb.

The Samsung Galaxy S Advance is a superb addition to the Galaxy range and will strike a chord with consumers looking for great value for money. The Samsung Galaxy S2 is still the premium model in the range and offers superior camera features and excellent design despite its advancing age.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is available now and the Samsung Galaxy S3 is coming soon.

An Introduction To Cameras Options On The Samsung Galaxy S3 And The S Advance

Samsung are refreshing their 2012 range of models with two exciting new handsets that look destined to be a success with consumers. The new Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy S Advance both boast some superb features combined with modern styling. We take a look at the media facilities likely to be featured in these two models and also see how the two devices may compare in terms of design.

Although we have no official confirmation on the specification for the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy S3 rumours seem to suggest that we will see this model offering a high quality 12 mega pixel digital still camera. This feature is likely to be accompanied by a host of facilities that have become standard features on modern premium smartphones. Autofous will definitely be included as will a dual LED flash to help users achieve the best possible results in poor lighting conditions. Users will have the opportunity to add a geographical location tag on all images by utilising the GPS receiver that will be incorporated in the model. A high quality video capture feature will record footage in 1080P quality which is currently the maximum resolution that can be achieved. For video calls a secondary front facing camera will be featured and this is likely to also be able to record still photographs at a resolution of around 2 million pixels. Specification has been confirmed on the new Galaxy S Advance model. Still photographs are captured at 5 million pixel resolution which is considerably lower than what the S3 will offer but it is worth remembering that this model is pitched as a cheaper option for consumers who do not require the very latest technology. The usual array of extras are present including Face Detection and a powerful LED Flash. Video footage can be recorded at 720P quality which is technically classified as High Definition and the front facing camera can record 1.3 mega pixel still images.

With no official pictures yet released for the Samsung Galaxy S3 there is much speculation about the appearance of the device. One thing that we are certain of is that the model will be much slimmer than the Galaxy S2 that was released last year and that the model is also likely to be one of the slimmest phones on the market. Many reports suggest that the model will measure around 7mm in depth although the width and height measurements are likely to increase slightly due the larger screen set to be fitted in the model. Samsung favour the use of strengthened plastics on their devices so expect this type of material to be used once again which means that the handset will weigh a lot less than models that use heavier metallic materials. The Galaxy S Advance uses the same chassis as the Samsung Galaxy S which means that it offers a slim 9.7mm depth and weighs just 120 grammes. The black gloss finish looks modern and the minimal bezel that surrounds the display gives the device a very stylish and minimal appearance.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is the handset that many smartphone fans have been looking forward to but the Galaxy S Advance may strike a chord with consumers looking for great features at a more wallet friendly price.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is coming soon and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is available now.

An Introduction To Networks Internet Packages For The Samsung Galaxy Note

The Samsung Galaxy Note is the perfect handset for internet browsing. The model offers some excellent connectivity options along with a large screen perfect for viewing all types of online content. A powerful dual core processor ensures that surfing the web is very fast even when viewing multiple web pages. There is one area that can have a negative effect on your browsing experience on this model and that is the mobile network you are using. We take a look at the major UK networks to see which offer the best data allowance packages for this model.

There are several major network providers in the UK and they all offer different data packages that range from unlimited usage to 100MB of data. For those who want to use there Samsung Galaxy Note for a huge amount of mobile internet use then Three offer a truly unlimited allowance. With this contact their are no restrictions on internet use which means that there is no limit on uploads, downloads and streaming. Three have recently stated that the average smartphone user requires approximately 500MB to 1GB of allowance per month which puts them beyond what many providers can offer. One point that is worth considering is that this contract does not support internet tethering. This means if you use your phone to access the web for other devices such as a laptop or tablet device it is not possible on this plan. One company that used to be famous for their unlimited data packages was O2 but unfortunately this has changed. Now consumers have to purchase their data allowance as part of their contract. O2 call this system Bolt Ons and users can choose to have as little as 100MB for £3 per month up to 1GB which will cost £10 in addition to the existing package price.

Some network providers in the UK advertise an unlimited data allowance but there is additional small print that is worth considering. If you want to use your Samsung Galaxy Note for simple browsing then T Mobiles plan places no restrictions however usage is capped at 500MB for uploading and downloading of data. This type of package is fine for checking e mails or catching up with the latest news but if you are looking to post videos on YouTube or Facebook then the 500MB can be eaten up very quickly. Vodafone and Orange are the two remaining services and both of these providers offer tiered packages. Customers can choose the amount of data allowance that is included in their contract but neither provider offers an unlimited option although Orange do offer a 2GB option which should be more than enough for even the most frequent internet user.

The Samsung Galaxy Note is a superb model for internet use but users can often be restricted by the data package that they have on their contract. All network providers offer data as part of their package although only Three offer a truly unlimited service with no additional costs.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 And The S Advance-How Power Compares On The Two

Samsung are releasing yet another phone in their Galaxy range in the shape of the new Galaxy S Advance. This new model is designed to sit somewhere in the middle of their line up and offers some impressive specification. We take a look at how this new model compares with the Samsung Galaxy S2, the premium device which helped make the Galaxy range so famous.

When we take a look at the screen technology used on both of these models it is the Samsung Galaxy S2 that comes out on top. Despite being nearly one year older than the Galaxy Advance the model still manages to offer a display that can compete with the very latest technology. This 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus screen reproduces stunning colours and also offers user great viewing angles and superb legibility in sunlight. The screen can show a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels which means that the pixel density equates to 217 pixels per inch. The Galaxy S Advance uses a smaller 4 inch screen that can display the same 480 x 800 resolution as the S2. Unfortunately this model only incorporates a Super AMOLED screen which does not perform as well as the Plus variety on the Galaxy S2. The result of this is that the S2 manages to produce the crisper images although in fairness both models offer exceptional quality in this department.

There is also very little to choose between the two models when it comes to processing power but the Samsung Galaxy S2 once again outshines the Galaxy S Advance in this area. When the S2 was released in 2011 it boasted a chipset that was far superior to many rivals and even now the model still manages to shine. The model makes use of the superb Samsung Exynos chipset which includes a very fast 1.2Ghz ARM Cortex A9 dual core processor. Fans of mobile games will appreciate the superb Mali 400MP graphics processing unit that delivers a superb experience on games titles as well as movie playback. The Galaxy S Advance also uses a dual core ARM Cortex A9 processor but the power of the chip used on this model is slightly lower than the S2 at 1Ghz. The model uses the same graphics processing unit as the Galaxy S2. For a mid range phone the Advance is a very well equipped model but the extra power available on the S2 means that it offers slightly better performance.

For a mid range mobile phone the Galaxy S Advance is a great model that should prove a more pocket friendly alternative to the Samsung Galaxy S2. If you do not mind spending a little extra however the S2 still offers screen technology and performance to rival the majority of devices currently available.

The New Samsung Galaxy Nexus-Battery Boost With New Update

Since it release towards the end of 2011 the Samsung Galaxy Nexus has been a success with consumers thanks to its excellent operating system and stylish design. As with most new handsets however there are several problems that users have encountered when using this model. Programmers at XDA Developers have now launched an update for this model that seems to resolve many of these issues.

One area where the Samsung Galaxy Nexus has encountered some problems is when sending an MMS message. Many users have experienced problems when they attach a photograph to a message and this content is never sent to the intended recipient. Many users have got around the problem by downloading a separate application to perform this task but sending the data with the built in application is a much faster and more simple affair. This new update cured this issue and from reports that we have heard nobody has encountered any further problems in this area. Several other improvements are apparent after installing this unofficial update. The volume during calls has also been improved after many people reported that call quality was poor due to them being unable to clearly hear who they were speaking to. Users have also noted that the camera application now launches much quicker than before meaning that you are more likely to capture the moment perfectly. Battery life has also been considerably boosted and one person reported that 15 hours of use on the phone only consumed just 11% of the battery capacity.

Despite these well documented issues the Samsung Galaxy Nexus remains one of the leading mobile handsets currently available. The device is the first model released to incorporate the new Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system which offers numerous improvements over earlier versions including improved visuals and faster operation. Another area that really impresses us with this new model is the high definition quality display. This screen shows a resolution of 280 x 720 pixels and measures 4.65 inches which not only makes it one of the largest displays available but also one of the best. Although the large screen size means that the phone is not one of the smallest available it does have advantages in many areas including web browsing, movie playback and mobile gaming. Looks wise the model catches the eye with its slim profile and neatly curved edges. Physical buttons are kept to a minimum and the front of the model is dominated by the large screen.

There are many reasons why consumers are opting for the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The update launched by XDA Developers eliminates the few problems that the model did encounter and the final result is a near faultless smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 Attracts New Smartphone Owners

The range of modern smartphones available is increasing at a fast rate and many consumers who would have once opted for a feature phone are now finding themselves either owning or considering a smartphone. There are a number of smartphone operating systems available to choose from but the front runners are undoubtedly the Google Android service which offers excellent models such as the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Apple iOS system which is used by the famous iPhone.

A new report reveals that first time smartphone buyers are favouring the Android platform over other formats such as iOS and Windows. According to market research firm NPD Android devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S2 dominated the market among first time buyers in Q4 of 2011 with a massive 53% share. Apple followed in second place with 34% which left the remaining 9% to be shared between alternative platforms. The gap between Android and Apple is much closer in terms of general smartphone sales but these figures for first time buyers may not come as a great surprise. Android is the platform used by major manufacturers such as Samsung, HTC and Motorola which means that consumers have a wide choice of devices from premium smartphones like the Galaxy S2 to smaller budget devices such as the HTC Desire S. Apple simply offer the new iPhone 4S or an older version which may be a reason while Android is currently dominating. In the US the Apple iPhone runs on three of the major network providers while Android phones run on all four which means potentially more customers also have access to one of these devices.

As we previously mentioned there is a massive selection of Android handsets available to tempt consumers who are looking to purchase their first smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy S2 is undoubtedly the most well known of these models. This handset is the flagship model in the exciting Galaxy range of models and went on to become the biggest selling phone of 2011. The device boasts a dual core processor to help it deliver a very fast operating speed while the gorgeous 4.3 inch Super AMOLED display looks fantastic. First time consumers however may not be looking for such high specification on their first purchase and a more simple option is the excellent HTC Explorer. This entry level phone boasts all of the connectivity options that users look for in a smartphone but in a compact design with more basic camera and video features. There are also a wealth of models that can be classed as mid range devices including the Samsung Galaxy R which is a more basic version of the Galaxy S2 and also the hugely popular HTC Desire S.

Although the gap between Android and Apple is decreasing in terms of general sales it is evident that Android is still the platform of choice for newcomers to the smartphone scene. Models such as the Samsung Galaxy S2 offer a multitude of great features but there are plenty of cheaper models available to suit all requirements.
