‘Celtic and Rangers could TURN OVER this Manchester United team’, claims Jason Cundy after great night for Scottish giants in Europa League

Jason Cundy believes Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjear should be wary of facing Celtic or Rangers in this season’s Europa League.

There is a chance the Red Devils could face one of the Scottish giants in the knockout stages in Europe after a fine Thursday evening for all three clubs.

United beat Partizan Belgrade 3-0 to book their place in the round of 32 with two games left to play in the group stages.

Celtic are also through after coming back from an early goal down to snatch a stunning 2-1 win at Lazio with a goal in stoppage time.

And Rangers kept their knockout stage hopes alive with a 2-0 victory over Champions League regulars Porto at Ibrox, which leaves them second in Group G with group leaders Young Boys and third place Feyenoord, who are just three points behind them, still to play.

It meant the Glasgow rivals continued their decent starts to the new campaign, with Celtic and Rangers neck-and-neck at the top of the Scottish Premiership with 28 points apiece after 11 games.

There has long been a debate over how the two biggest clubs north of the border would fare if they competed in the Premier League and, after the results came in on Thursday evening, Sports Bar hosts Jason Cundy and Andy Goldstein discussed the chances of an England vs Scotland clash in the knockout stages.

And former Chelsea defender Cundy made a claim about the state of the current United team that Goldstein did not agree with one bit.

“Over two legs, Celtic and Rangers could turn United over,” Cundy told his fellow co-host, who just happens to be a huge Red Devils fan.

“They could. Of course they could. Trust me.

“Let’s give credit where credit’s due, their two results are better than what you [United] served up tonight.

“Both sides are doing well and you simply don’t know what United team are going to rock up.”

Do you agree? Would you fancy Man United to beat Rangers and Celtic in the Europa League this season?
